pain we obey ;; - Bevy - Jun 12 2015 to kindness, to knowledge, we make promise only; pain we obey. Ratchet and Calypso had struck a deal, you see, usually it was Calypso who ventured out into the world and caused all sorts of headaches for the other two. This was straining poor Enna who fret and worried about what her friends thought about Caly vanishing into the night and being awfully harsh to everyone she met and well... Ratchie had had enough and said that they would go out together and not share any secrets. To be fair, they also thought that Caly's little mission was quite curious-- indeed, what secrets did the carvings hold? They hoped to find out, maybe in time with Cancer's help. For now, however, it was time to go flying. Swooping through the difficult tunnel of winding ways, letter M on Cancer's map, Ratchie made his way towards Orion. Enna had been there before, and possibly Calypso though she didn't say, and they had always admired the way the quartz was. Secretly, to themselves, they hoped to get Caly a quartz stone to match the jewels they had collected already. Enna had a beautiful blue crystal, and Ratchie thought that perhaps once they all had a stone to signify who they were maybe things would get easier. ... It was all a bit of birdy nonsense, but that was what Bevy was best at. So off they went to explore-- Calypso taking the backhelm for the moment because, admittedly, Ratchie was quite the expert flier. When they stopped, suddenly, however, there were three minds all colliding at once. Enna pushed her way to the front and dove down the slope, desperate to get to what she knew was Aza'zel. Calypso struggled to regain control, and Ratchie fought back, but in the end it was most certainly Enna's timid nature that came through in her call. "A-aza'zel..?!" RE: pain we obey ;; - Azazel (Original) - Jun 12 2015 He hadn't realized he was in the wrong place... blindly wandering through what he thought was the right tunnel until his weakness took hold. Azazel had fallen into deep slumber, succumbing to the burning pain that came and went with every step or even twitch of a muscle. It probably had been around a day, but it didn't feel like long. The cold hard floor seemed comfort enough to let him heal. It'd be a while until he made it to Canis and was at his best. Yes, it would be at least a cycle until all of his feathers grew back in. He made silent vows in his consciousness to try and not start any more fights. He was tired of fighting. The Bone King was tired of hurting himself over nothing. Gembound did heal a little faster than their real world counterparts with the aid of magic, but it still would be a while. RE: pain we obey ;; - Bevy - Jun 12 2015 No part of Bevy could believe what had befallen their first ever Bird friend, the mighty King of Bones. He looked like something huge with teeth of flames had chewed him up and spat him out. She landed beside him and ran her wing over his frail form, careful not to touch, but she could feel the heat on him. A fever, certainly. His injuries were so great that she knew she would have to get help, but first she had to make sure that he was stable. She was relieved that he had spoke. Makyna or Leon could probably carry the bird back to Pisces, where there would be plenty of cool, clean water. "You're going to be okay," she told him as she wished she had Makyna's ability to message gembounds from rooms away. Shaking her feathers out, the bird focused on the task at hand. Calypso did not think it was worth their time. Bevy couldn't save this sack of feathers, and he was annoying to boot. That thought crossed the line for poor Enna, who was trembling with fear and now anger. "I'm going to heal you, okay? You're going to be okay," Bevy's beak clicked sharply as she spoke, her tone edged with anger. It did not cross anyone's thoughts except for Ratchie's who had done this, but they kept that to themselves. Enna was not a creature of revenge, and her only concern was keeping her friend alive. Bevy began to summon her magic. First, she had to see how bad it was. RE: pain we obey ;; - Azazel (Original) - Jun 14 2015 ![]() In his drunken state, he felt like he was nothing but useless. He wanted nothing more than to just sleep, but he knew that was a distant fantasy now that he had awakened. The pitohui bird approached, giving peeps of assurance and such that he'd be okay. Azazel knew he would be in time, but for now... everything hurt and was on fire. As soon as he felt better and could move like he used to, he'd try to find the fisher cat. He didn't want to fight him anymore. He didn't want to constantly be at odds with him. Where would it get them in the end? Nowhere was the answer. Giving a ragged sigh, the bird shifted so he was off from the wall, sensing the magicka being released into the air. Desperately, he pulled at his own magicka, attracting some of it to himself and feeling a little renewed. Of course, what he was trying to do would heal him instantly, but it would help a bit. His dusty jasper gem hummed and glowed, small tendrils of light working to cover his back for just a moment, encouraging the growth of some of his blood sheathes. Small pins stuck out of his back now, and he felt a little better, a little renewed. table and code © chelsea of ORIGIN RE: pain we obey ;; - Bevy - Jun 14 2015 There was a bit of bacteria, but as Aza'zel began to use his magic to heal himself, they seemed to scatter a bit. Bevy clicked her beak together and decided that the best thing to do was to pull the nasty bacteria out. She was getting better at her methods of healing-- it was a whole process, at least, if she got to the wounds after they had time to fester. A fresh wound was must easier to treat. Bevy blinked when Aza'zel spoke. "Yes, yes you do," she cooed softly, keeping her light, birdsong tone kind and gentle. "You'll kill yourself if you keep going like this." What she didn't understand was why gembounds fought in the first place. Sometimes she got angry, but she could never imagine... "Why do you fight? I don't understand Aza." ;; post roll So far it was working. It was slow going, and not the easiest thing, with Aza's recovery spell scattering them every which way, but soon she had amassed a small cloud of nasty bacteria just above him. Her eyes remained focused on the larger bird's injured body, taking in the tasks laid out before her. Pull out the bad bacteria, put in good... Once he was feeling better she could take him to Pisces to drink and wash clean and cool any of the burns. RE: pain we obey ;; - Azazel (Original) - Jun 14 2015 ![]() Murmuring incoherent sentences, the bird sat down and watched as Bevy would use her magicka to pull out nasty bacteria from his wounds and body. He didn't think he had scattered it with his unintended recovery spell, and he simply rested his head on the cold stone floor. The pitohui bird spoke of him and said for him to quit fighting, he sighed, carmine eyes dull and tired. Bevy would question why exactly he fought, and Azazel simply chuckled, table and code © chelsea of ORIGIN RE: pain we obey ;; - Bevy - Jun 14 2015 Bevy would have frowned if she could have at Aza'zel's answer to her question. She shoved the bacteria away, down the corridor, until it was too far away to be of any harm to her friend. "You are not a stupid face," she told him firmly, clacking her beak together in the harshest way she could manage. She knew her voice was sweet and tender all the time, so she had to make up for it if she wanted to come across as stern. "You're smart, Aza. You know all about bones and golems and you're really good at your air magic. We're just little still, you can't expect to be perfect." She sighed and began to gather healthy bacteria-- mainly from her own body-- for the bone king to breathe in and hopefully incorporate into his own system to heal the wounds... Or at least keep the infections at bay. ;; post roll But for some reason, the bacteria wouldn't come. For the first time-- at least, in a long time, or since she could remember-- the white spots did not obey her. She trembled slightly, hoping that Aza'zel wouldn't notice. She hadn't done enough yet. She had to keep trying. "Do you think you can move? Pisces is just up ahead.. If you can go that far, there's fresh water and probably a bone or two for you to munch on..." RE: pain we obey ;; - Azazel (Original) - Jun 14 2015 ![]() The bird's change of tone almost startled Azazel as she responded, and he gave a small chirp of confusion. table and code © chelsea of ORIGIN RE: pain we obey ;; - Bevy - Jun 14 2015 Bevy considered what Aza'zel said... Fisher. The one that had been there when Makyna saw the gembound die? The young pitohui bird had never met Fisher, though she was wondering if she really wanted to. Seemed like danger followed that gembound wherever he went. "Yeah, this is the tunnel connecting Orion to Pisces. It's just over this hill here. Be careful though, it's slippery," she told him, putting on a friendly tone. "Come on." She hopped along the ground, being sure to move slowly so that the bird could follow along. She made sure to find spots that weren't too slippery-- though she flew through this tunnel she also climbed it both ways so she knew it very well. Orion was one of her favorite places-- she knew many wonderful gembounds there, and more so, it wasn't too far. Ratchie.. Oh dear. Her head spun a little, but soon they had gotten a grip on things. Right. Get Aza'zel home. Ratchie was a bit better at the whole moving thing anyway. They were a good flier, and a good walker. They glanced back at Aza, hoping he wouldn't find it too hard to keep up. "Well, don't worry for now. Think it's a good idea to just focus on getting better, y'know? Fretting about doing stupid stuff will just keep you down, buddy." RE: pain we obey ;; - Azazel (Original) - Jun 14 2015 ![]() Grunting, the ave would stretch his sore wings. He couldn't manuever very easily. but he could fly somewhat. It was a matter of having the energy to so he could cover the distance to the familiar pisces cave entrance. He almost missed it, like it was his home. But he had to get there first. Simply chirping in response, the bird flapped his wings experimentally. It didn't seem to hurt that bad now, and he felt like he could make it. As his butt met the cold stone floor, Azazel shuddered, picking himself up quickly with keen reflexes. Man it was colder on your butt than talons! Beginning to waddle sfter Bevy, he stumbled a few times, but kept his posture the best he could. He didn't really hear what the pitohui bird said next, more focused on getting to Pisces and that was it. table and code © chelsea of ORIGIN |
