Welcome to ...inhale
Bremen's Bananas and Bones and Baubles and Bartering Bazaar!
A half-mile away from the entrance to Tunnel N along the wall you come upon a section of floor that has been surrounded by baubled gemstones and small plants, not even to the flowering stage yet. Spaces in the semi-circle have been made for obvious entrances and exits and mounds of dirt have been piled up within, upon which various items have been put on display. Within this little 'shop' there is a single employee, a... well a hybrid thing that is currently trying to figure out how to make a fancy display case out of dirt and sticks. Should you venture closer you will find the following items stocked upon the dirt pedestals:
Pile of pristine bananas
You count at least a few dozen bananas trying desperately not to come clattering down from their precarious pile |
Mushrooms!
This pedestal is little more than a compost pile for a sizable batch of mushrooms growing upon discarded banana peels. They are probably edible. Of course everything is edible at least once. |
Glowing Banana kabob
A single banana, glowing brilliantly, skewered on some kind of black spike. It looks like the spell is starting to fade as the banana give way to rot. |
Charred deer skull
Someone definitely tried to set this on fire at some point, but why? |
Femurs
Two classic-looking bones sit crossed upon the dirt pedestal. The dirt pedestal that seems to be humming... |
Baubled gems
In a pile at the back wall are the remaining glowing gemstones that weren't used in constructing the border. Where did this thing get them? |

That trip had been harder than she expected.
The... whatever it was she found, carefully carved from metal with intricately carved and painted details, kept sliding down to cover her eyes. She had to be careful, as the sharp dagger she'd found was a risk. However, each time she managed to toss it back into place, somehow.
Thankfully, she'd been able to leave the dagger back in her family's tunnel, leaving her with just the shield. So it was a bit easier for her to trot into the Bazaar, ears twitching as she looked around for the Hybrid.

Relieving you of your purse Throughout the guild it's dispersed And while you crib and you curse We will sing!
Calypso hadn't been around the caves long.
Really, she hadn't. So the sounds of Gembounds drew her. She hadn't met any others yet, and thus hadn't learned the saying curiosity kills the cat. So she saw nothing wrong with following the sound.
Seeing the Bazaar, her eyes were instantly drawn to something that seemed to glow. Oooh, shiny. She wanted them.
The cat moved from a trot to a slink, changing her path to hide amongst the plants. Each step was carefully chosen, allowing her to move silently, until she was only a small distance away from the baubles.

The little hybrid's ears shot up as the sounds of movement reached his shop.
Stickles tumbled to the ground and a cloud of dirt went flying as Bremen flung himself around and scurried to the entrance to try to find the source.
There, just now cresting over the top of a small hill, a lone dark wolf traveled, metallic hat covering its eyes as a solemn expression rested itself upon her face- as though uncomfortably bearing the weight of the world.
Or more likely just uncomfortable trying to balance a giant plate on her head. He'd suggested she go look for something really unique and the returning customer seemed to have delivered!
"Welcome back, canid friend!" he called enthusiastically, his ear shooting in another direction as something almost imperceptible caught its attention. The rest of the hybrid, however, paid it no mind even if his ear was insistent on tracking the anomaly's movement. It was probably just someone really shy, best to give them space. "Come back to make a trade? I've kept that item nice and safe for you while you were gone"

The baubles were beautiful, their bright lights catching the cats gleaming eyes. Oh, she wanted one, she did. 'They're so beautiful.'
The creature whom seemed to own the baubles appeared to be distracted, addressing a canine of some sort. Good, that would make this easier.
She was so close, her legs were long enough. So, flattening herself to the ground, ears pointing towards Bremen and Jayberry, eyes never leaving the glowing baubles.
And then, in a single movement, she lunged forward. Her paw hooked on a glowing bauble, yanking it towards herself and scooping it into her mouth before spinning, coiling her legs and slinking into a nearby bush.

The she-wolf's ears twitched, picking up the sound of something scuttling her way. The little hybrid was rather irritating, she would admit. It had far too much energy, and was far too cheerful. He was erratic, rather like Huckleberry.
Stepping carefully, so as not to have to mess with the shield again, she approached the hybrid. A cordial "Hello, hybrid." was her response to his greeting, and she slowed to a stop a few body-lengths away from Bremen. Lowering her head, she slid the shield carefully down to the ground, not wanting to risk damaging it.
"I am. Will this be sufficient barter?"

The odd little hybrid took a couple more steps forward, his golden eyes fixated on the metallic disk. It looked pretty heavy, but not so heavy as to be unmanageable. Was it really a hat? Perhaps it was supposed to be used to transport things on that wouldn't slide easily. It might also be able to be thrown as part of a game to build strength.
So many possibilities! Given that Bremen was no expert at this whole sales business his enthusiasm showed plainly as he looked up to the wolf and nodded. "Yes, yes. This is a perfect item to trade for the unique fire skull. I bet the skull would make for an even better hat for you than the disk was!"
Hmm, that led him to an idea! Perhaps he could gather vines from the next room over when he went to get plants and use them to make things to wear like the wolf had done with the disk. Doing that he could turn simple bone and branches into items worth a lot more than they would be on their own. Who knew what kinds of cool things the other gembound would give him for things like that?
The transaction confirmed Bremen took hold of the metal disk in his beak and stabilized his weight into the ground, lifting the object and throwing it behind him in one fluid motion.
- Break point: B5:4 will assume that trade was fully successful and no other lasting changes take place -
