Sing a Song~ - Jayberry - Jul 12 2018
Oh, she liked this spell!
Really, the trade hadn't been fair to Jupiter. After all, the wolf had only brought in a single Gem, and she had been gifted a whole Spell in return! The spell didn't really seem to do... anything, but she thought it was fun!
On her way back home, she had been playing with the spell. It made her gem vibrate, and her chest sing. It wasn't unlike howling, but wasn't the same at the same time.
So, curious as to what she could do with it, she dug a hole in her family's tunnel. She'd done this a couple times, and found it made her howl echo in the best of ways. Really, she couldn't think of a practical use, but she swore she would at some point!
Putting the first half of her muzzle in the hole, she began to howl. And then her gem began to vibrate, and the tunnel began to echo with howling and chiming.

RE: Sing a Song~ - Nameless - Jul 13 2018
The loud chiming and howling woke Blackberry from a deep rest. Her body was aching from a sparring session she had had earlier with Elderberry who was becoming a formidable fighter. She had sat down to take a few moments of rest when the familiar voice of Jayberry banged and echoed through the entire tunnel. She immediately sat upright, pulling her head from under her wing and whipping around so that the dog was in sight.
She widened her eyes with surprise at the hole she had dug in the floor and was extremely confused how she was making that noise. It wasn't a wolf's howl or bark, but similar to the annoying chime of the crystals that had strangely appeared throughout the caves. They were gone now and she thought she had heard the last of them. Apparently not.
"Jayberry," she honked, irritably, "what on earth are you doing?! Do you have to be making such a racket? I'm trying to sleep!"

Hearing her name be honked rather seriously, Jayberry shut up, pulling her muzzle from the hole. Her howl died off immediately, but the ringing of the spell slowly drifted away, muffled as she closed her muzzle. Her gem vibrated uncomfortably against her tongue, but she didn't notice much, instead giving Mother a sheepish grin.
"I'm sorry Mother, I didn't mean to wake you up." she wagged her tail appealingly. "I learned a new spell from the naked-deer-cat-thing, and wanted to see if I could combine it with my howling and put it to use, or whether it's just for fun. Oh! And I've noticed, if I howl into a hole, it echoes! It makes it sound like there are many more 'me's than there are. Could that be useful Mama?" She rambled excitedly, glad to contribute to their family.
