Fairest of them all - Kin-Kin - Aug 02 2018
Kin-Kin padded down to the water's edge, her gait even and stance relaxed. Her ears were pricked forward, listening, eyes wordlessly observing. But all was quiet, the eerie limelights of Polaris falling around her and reflecting like diamonds on the river's glistening surface. She hadn't been far for a while. She'd been lying low, but there was no aura of sadness about her. Only the impression that life went on regardless of her emotions. @Croix RE: Fairest of them all - Croix - Aug 02 2018 I noticed the scent of someone, and quickly raced from deeper within Polaris up to this sandy/tanish and white colored wolf, I looked up at her, then used a paw to splash the water up at her, a look of amusement and mischeviousness on my face RE: Fairest of them all - Kin-Kin - Aug 02 2018
Kin-Kin was distracted from her thoughts as she suddenly found her face drenched with chilly water from the left. She froze before promptly sneezing out a nose full of droplets, tongue settling back into place in her mouth, before glancing over to the side the 'assault' had come from. There was a disapproving look in her eye, but she seemed to relax as she saw that the perpetrator was just a pup... a pup that made her glance back in a moment of deja vu before relaxing. @Croix RE: Fairest of them all - Croix - Aug 02 2018 I opened my mouth then closed it, as if I was making a noise, though no sound came out my mouth. This wolf looked funny with her fur sticking up! At a closer look, a piece of chalky rock seemed to be sticking out of my mouth but was held in place by my teeth and tongue, making it so that it wouldn’t fall out of my mouth if I opened it. I quickly went over to a nearby cave wall and wrote my name, Croix, on it, then I glanced over at the wolf for a moment. Once I knew that I still had her attention, I pressed a paw on the wall near my name. RE: Fairest of them all - Kin-Kin - Aug 02 2018
Kin-Kin barely had the chance to respond even as she opened her mouth to, before the pup was bounding away to a nearby rock wall and she had little choice but to follow. She watched as they scrabbled down with a chunk of white stone- leaving the residue in the form of markings unlike any she'd seen. Kin-Kin sat back on her haunches, narrowing her eyes and glancing down at the expectant little pup. "What? Is that... your name or somethin'?" she guessed haphazardly. RE: Fairest of them all - Croix - Aug 02 2018 I watched closely, unaware of the chalk that dropped from my mouth onto the ground beside me. I was in awe, my mouth was hung open slightly. She drew over my name, making it glow! I quickly turned towards the wolf, nipping at her legs in a very excited fashion, my tail was wagging hard and fast enough that it looked like it might get tired and sore after a bit. The pink zircon upon my forehead had a faint glow to it, radiating energy. RE: Fairest of them all - Kin-Kin - Aug 02 2018
The pup must have been too excited to respond. Kin-Kin's gaze followed the pup as it darted towards her, and raised a paw as it tried to nip at her legs. Still, at least her display hadn't gone unnoticed. "Well then... I guess I'll just call you Fuzzy," she said, taking a playful but halfhearted swipe at the pup with one of her forepaws. She wondered how many 'fuzzies' were wandering around the cave at this point; it was always her go-to for the nameless little one. @Croix RE: Fairest of them all - Croix - Aug 02 2018 I folded my ears back and pawed at the glowing writing on the wall, looking towards her. I was trying to tell her my name somehow, but she wasn’t getting it... I definitely wanted to see more of her amazing abilities, but I was keeping my focus on the wall. I was tapping the bird symbol then the strange nearly unidentifiable one next to the bird. If I could even just whine and whimper, I would have been doing a lot of that by now... RE: Fairest of them all - Kin-Kin - Aug 02 2018
Kin-Kin's gaze followed the pup's motions, frantically tapping at the symbol. Clearly 'Fuzzy' wasn't the name they wanted to be known as, however fitting. She huffed in concentration, feeling slightly awkward at the bizarre game of charades. "Crow- yes? Crow... cross? crow..." @Croix RE: Fairest of them all - Croix - Aug 02 2018 I did a little excited jump, wagging my tail hard. She finally got it! I quickly realized that my chalk was on the ground, but instead of picking it up, I gently rolled it to her. I looked up, knowing that she said that her name was kin-kin, but I wanted to see it written so I could start writing directly to her if I had to. |
