rekindling - Blueberry - Aug 15 2018 Blue had returned. His pondering, his escape. He had retreated, leaving his mate and his children. After helping Jayberry, and taking a bit more time to work up the courage to face his family, Blue had returned. The moose lumbered into the tunnel, towards the familiar nesting ground that the odd family called home. There he settled, taking in familiar smells, familiar sounds. The sweet scent of the air, soft soil mixed with rocks and gravel in some places. Home. Though, this tunnel where so many memories had been made, something still felt wrong. Like it was missing. His mate, his love. Blackberry, terror of the caves. Mother of their children. He let out a soft bellow, alerting anyone in the tunnels of his presence. Blackberry wasn't far - just a little ways down the tunnel, feasting on a few cave rats, tearing at the flesh with anger and frustration. However much she wanted to forget it, Pride's parting words still rang in her ears. Of course she gathered the children, the lost and alone. She would grow her family to be stronger! But would it happen as he said? Would they fight someone too great for them? And they would fall around her, bleeding, dying, and she would lose them forever? Was what she was doing wrong after all? But then her confused thoughts and anger melted away as the soft bellow touched her ears. She froze. She would know that voice anywhere. RE: rekindling - Blueberry - Aug 18 2018 Blue smiled as he watched him mate approach, realizing only now how much he truly missed her. He huffed in her scent like it was a drug, his body immediately losing any tension that it had before. He was home. "I was thinking. And worrying. I worry for the children, they are strong, yes. I am oh so proud of them, but we need numbers. We need more children, more creatures to pledge their allegiance, so that we may protect each other more easily." He sighed. The brute of a Gembound was still softhearted. While his mate and children had taken lives, he had never. He had only ever helped fight, and he hadn't taken part in one in a good 3 cycles. It made him feel guilty almost, his former meek personality shining through the insanity that had taken over his mind. Blackberry could understand Blueberry's reasoning but still, that didn't make all of the emptiness from his leave disappear. But she wasn't angry. How could she be? How could she ever be angry at Blueberry? After everything he had done for her, after all they had been through? She couldn't be angry at him. So, instead, she dipped her head. RE: rekindling - Blueberry - Sep 16 2018 He nodded. Another member. But then... a new child?"A grandchild.... How time passes." He nosed the gem, feeling the magick radiate from it. Sure, it was cruel to take a child from someone. He knew that anger and fear and sadness, but Huckle needed to learn. Blackberry watched Blueberry leaned down to inspect the gem and narrowed her eyes. Had she been too harsh on Huckleberry? Had it been wrong to forbid them from raising their own child? After all, if someone had taken any of her children away, she would have torn their hearts right out of their chest. But she had never given her children away. Huckleberry had willingly offered their gem as repentance. It was, at least in her eyes, a fair trade. RE: rekindling - Blueberry - Sep 16 2018 Blue nodded. They must be getting old, their children already adults. Already off fighting and killing and creating more killers. "I worry too much Blackberry. I love our lives, the killing, the fighting, it sends a blaze through me. But I realize how dangerous it is. And I have always been a worrier." He replied honestly. Blackberry sighed. RE: rekindling - Blueberry - Nov 12 2018 Blue sighed with Blackberry. They were grown. They had been killing and fighting much more than he ever had. It pained him, and he wished for another child. One that maybe, just maybe, he could protect and keep innocent. He loved Blackberry, but the children reamained innocent for not long at all. That was when he noticed the gem around Blackberry's neck, almost beckoning him to give it life. "Have you ever thought about giving life to that gem there Blackberry? To continue our bloodline?" Blackberry followed Blueberry's gaze down to her necklace. There were three gems, actually, resting in their places. She had honestly forgotten that they were still there, or at least that they still had the potential for life. |
