The First Rule of Fight Club... - Yodox - Sep 12 2018

IS DONT TALK ABOUT FIGHT CLUB
Luckily, this is a little different than the movie. Or really, a lot different.

Yodox has big dreams for a little calf. He loves to fight, in fact, he loves fighting so much that he wants to be the leader of a group centered around a fighting ring. Perhaps leader isn't a good word... He wants to be the Mob Boss. So bear with me, things are about to get a little... complex

Oh, please keep in mind that this group is obviously going to take a while to develop seeing that Yodox is in his first cycle and has development. This a plot for the FUTURE, but relationships can start being formed now.

THE COMBATTENTE
This group will be a type of a Mafia (a group of people*ahem*gembounds in a particular field that have a controlling influence). Their goal is to provide a place for all those who enjoy fighting or witnessing a fight. One can place bets on fighters using Yodox's unique currency or join the fight. Fights are structured in a few ways:

FREE FOR ALL
In a Free For All Fight, any gembound can "sign up" to join the ring. The rules are simple, the first to get knocked unconscious, give up, or fall out of the stone arena loses.

TOUGH TUMBLERS
Biting, kicking, clawing, are all allowed. However, this type of fight does not allow magic to be used just those good old primal instincts. The use of magic will result in expulsion from the ring and automatic loss of the fight.

MAGIC MAYHEM
This fight is a minimal contact fight. Body contact such as shoving and pinning are allowed, but biting kicking and clawing are not. Most of the fight is to be done through the gembounds own power through their stone. Any type of element is allowed and any combination in the fight is allowed. However, a fight between the same elements can be organized.

THE RAT PACK
Maybe you aren't into fighting yourself and watching other gembounds fight isn't your favorite thing. Don't worry, there is enough violence for all tastes! A special ring will be made just for the most entertaining of fights.

Rat Fights

It's simple enough, catch any type of cave rat(the bigger the better of course) and bring it to the ring. There must be at least two gembounds with one rat each for a fight. There can be as many as six rats per fight. Each rat must be marked in some way by their respective gembound so the ref can keep track of who wins. Once in the ring, the rats are to fight until they go limp for exhaustion or death.

PUNISHMENT FIGHTS
These fights are very... special. One can get thrown into punishment fights for betraying Yodox or his family, for stealing from the ring, or killing another gembound in the Free-For-All fights.

FREEDOM FIGHT
This fight is most often held between two gembounds who have been captured from an opposing group, wish to abandon The Combattente(this is for members only) or they have committed a smaller infraction to the The Combattente(i.e. thievery, disrespect, disruption of fights, etc). One must fight and win to be set free from Yodox.

FINAL BRAWL
This fight is the fight to beat all fights. One must join the ring to fight Yodox or any of the group heads and win to leave. These are the only fights that may result in death(if given persmission by player)

THE INNER CIRCLE
Mob Boss: Yodox

Right Hand Man: 1 position. Will act as the Mob Bosses eyes and ears, will participate in Final Fights and will hold as much authority in the rings as Yodox. In the occasion of the Mob Bosses death, the right hand man will take his place as Mob Boss. For this position comment with your gembounds name and we can set up a thread to test the waters. It all comes down to who Yodox gets along best with.
Trying out: @Drake,
@Mongo @Sergei

Family: UnlimitedThese are gembounds that Yodox or Right Hand Man have a close attachment to. The will likely live in the same place as Yodox, living in a sort of "herd". These will often happen naturally, if you would like to thread with them to test the waters comments below.
Trying Out: @Mongo

THE WORKERS
Heavies: The job includes being able to handle unruly gembounds(maybe they have had too much to drink or are trying to pick a fight outside if the ring) and making sure that gembounds under 3 cycles do not enter fights. Only observe.
Referees: Refs will make sure the fight is fair depending on the rules of that certain fight. They will also keep track of whose rats belong to who.
The Fermenter: The Fermenter will make fermented fruit drinks to serve to the guests viewing the fight. These drinks can be purchased using the currency provided on entry. There can be more than one fermenter. Must be of plant magic.
The Minter: The Minter is responsible for accepting brought items and converting their worth into currency. They will often be stationed at the front of the ring. Must be able to create currency.
The Ratter: Don't want to catch a rat? No problem, you can buy one for a decent price from the ratter using currency. Preferably a gembound with animal magic

THE ASSOCIATES
With hopes that this will become an influential group, I think it would be interesting to have some of the existing groups play a roll. If your group has something to bring to the table or some interest in the fights, please comment below!

CURRENCY
What you can buy with it and how you can place bets!

What is it Called?
The name for Yodox's currency is Chips and Tabs. Chips are flat, circular pieces that come in what ever color The Minter feels like making them. Tabs are flat and rectangular. These can be any color as well.

What are They Worth, How do I get them?
In short, Chips are worth less than Tabs. Think of it like this, Tabs are worth 5 Chips. So each Chip is worth, well, 1. They can be acquired via trade at the front of the arena. The Minter will take the trade-able items and exchange them for Chips or Tabs.

What is Worth What?
Although anything can be brought for trade, here are a few examples.

-Small animal bones=1 Chip
+This can include small mammal and bird bones such as skulls, spines, ribs, etc
-Medium animal bones=3 Chips
+This can include medium mammal and bird bones from anything bigger than a cat
-Large animal bones=1 Tab
+The includes large mammal and bird bones, The Minter is allowed to raise the price if it is particularly interesting or rare
-Oddities= 2-6 Tabs
+This includes items from mystery such as fabric, armor, figurines, etc. The Minter will decide the worth of a specific Item
-Stone from another Gembound= 20 Tabs
+Not only will you receive tabs, but you will be able to hold a meeting with Yodox and his inner circle. He will grant one favor of any kind(e.i. murder, intimidation, retrieval of stolen goods, etc)

Ok... What Can I Do With Them?
You can:
-Place Bets
+If you place bets and your fighter wins you can collect double the amount you bet at The Minter
-Buy fermented fruit juice
+Gembounds under 3 cycles are not allowed to have the juice, but who is checking ID's?
-Buy rats from The Ratter
+The Ratter has various sizes and types of rats for sale. The Ratter is allowed to set his or her own price for each rat.
-Haggle with Yodox for some of his Treasure
+Are you brave enough? Yodox will hold many different items that he has collected from the trades. Or if you have enough, he might be able to help you out of a sticky situation, or maybe you are more interested in something a little more... hallucinogenic?

Ok, but I have left over chips and tabs?
Don't worry about it! Yodox and his right hand man will keep them on file until you return. All you have to do it give one of them the Chips or Tabs and something to identify you when you come back. Some chose to Bauble their chips and tabs, some leave feather or fur, get creative to help them keep track!

Rules of Currency
-It can only be used in the fighting ring area
-It is a one time use Items that is not to leave the fighting area(think about casino chips, but they can't be exchanged for cash)
-Do not steal other Gembounds currency

If any of these rules are violated there will be punishment.

RE: The First Rule of Fight Club...WIP - Mayngo - Sep 12 2018

I'd love for Mongo to perhaps be in his Family!

RE: The First Rule of Fight Club...WIP - Yodox - Sep 12 2018

@Mongo

For sure! I still have to post Yodox's hatching thread.. whoops But we can for sure have them thread together!!

RE: The First Rule of Fight Club...WIP - Drake - Sep 12 2018

@Yodox Once he's accepted and they maybe do a thread together, I'd love to have Drake considered for right hand man! He loves to fight and while he doesn't have the kind of pride or authority as Yodox, he'd make a great partner if he likes or respects him enough. Of course, I'd like for them to meet first, but I have a feeling that Drake's gonna like him and maybe that Yodox would appreciate him as well.

The only problem is that Drake is super rebellious. Of course, he could see the mob as being rebellious enough and the whole idea of the fight club as his favorite kind of chaos but there's no telling. Idk, I guess what I'm saying is that I'd love to see how they relate in a thread together!

RE: The First Rule of Fight Club...WIP - Yodox - Sep 12 2018

@Drake

They would make an impressive pair if the initial meeting between them works out! I would love to test the waters with your Drake! His rebellious attitude could add for some interesting plot twists within the inner circle. Perhaps an overthrow? Who knows! We will have to see where the fights take us.

RE: The First Rule of Fight Club... - Khloros - Sep 12 2018

If you can think of a place for either Imp (alligator/bat hybrid; very troublemaker-ey, obnoxiously mischievous but neither malicious nor violent) or Vinnie (loud seagull, warm and streetwise) let me know!

Either could work as eyes & ears, messenger, etc. Imp might take to it more readily, and have no issues with the rat-fights etc.

RE: The First Rule of Fight Club... - Yodox - Sep 12 2018

@khloros
Well, there are plenty of positions open!
A messenger would be interesting, especially when it comes to checking up on the going on in the cave with other group. They could even act as a recruiter of sorts for the fights maybe?

RE: The First Rule of Fight Club... - Khloros - Sep 15 2018

Yeah, man, I'd be totally down for that!

Alternatively (or in addition, perhaps), I've a concept in progress--a physical combat bear. I've yet to finalize some details but I think he could be fun to put in this group too!
