Origin Cave Rumor Mill - Game Master Dark - Oct 06 2018
This is a thread where you can post--and read--rumors that might be spread about your or other characters, in character, to others who dwell in the caves. These can be factual or fictitious summaries of in-character happenings, gossip, the groundwork to lay a trap... anything you like! If you wish you can use the form below, or just post freely. Remember that rumors can be wildly innaccurate--those you create, or those that you read! When posting rumors about other characters, please try not to post anything too offensive (at least, not without checking with the character's player first).
Characters can also have heard of the large, cave-wide Quests, many of which have involved dozens of Gembound working together. These can be read about here:

Rumor Popularity: Probably more like a fairytale at this point, a hushed whisper when the lights start to flicker.
Rumor Details: “Have you seen those strange slime trails? They always seem to lead back to cetus.”
“I’d never hang around cetus in the dark. Sometimes you can hear a low rumbling out there, deep within the fog...”
“I swear, wherever those trails lead, you always end up losing it to the bog or a river. Whatever it is doesn’t stray too far from water...”
“Have you seen the trees, stripped bare of needles and bark right to their tips!”
“I killed a cave deer the other day- a really big one. Too big to carry. But when I came back the next day it was gone. Like it was never there.”

Rumor Details: There is supposedly a fortress in Canis with untold treasure that belongs to the magnificent Vladis, a creature of amazing will and might.
(It's B-S though, he's only got a small cave in there currently with a couple of gemstones. But it may grow in time?)

Rumor Popularity: somewhat well known by those who frequent Polaris, though it is growing in popularity.
Rumor Details: There is a giant, talking/intelligent cave spider who wonders around around Polaris and it came from Spire! The rumor varies from "Lessers are gaining intelligence what is the cave coming too?!" to "It's related to that Crystal Spider Golem that tried to wreak havoc on the Spire cycles ago." (See thread: [Event] Catch Me if You Can). Another variation is it that its a guardian of the Spire

Rumor Details: Apparently there's a band of savages living in Tunnel N. They're led by a monstrous bird that wears the spoils of her victories around her neck. Anyone that goes in there faces their wrath and fury. They kill whoever goes near. They also just kill for fun. They're all completely insane! If you get too close you might catch the insanity.

Rumor Popularity: Probably just a word on the street right now, but he's really trying to become famous!
Rumor Details: There's apparently a very talented blacksmith living in Monoceros! He's a huge golden bird with wings of fire and he crafts beautiful armor and weapons to anyone that comes by! Sometimes he does it for a price and sometimes he does it for free. He's supposed to be a bird of great power and nobility. He helps anyone he sees and will destroy any evil he can find.

Rumor Details: A monster of a Gembound has made his home in Tunnel K. His lair is massive, surrounded by spires. On several of these spires are corpses, mummified Greaters so that they are unable to turn into a black goop. A rumbling roar greets any who dare enter the tunnel, and they will soon be greeted by what may be the largest tiger the caves have ever known. His fur is stained with blood, and his eyes are impossibly cold. You better be ready with a good reason for entering his home, or you shall find yourself having to beat a hasty retreat.

Rumor Details: A demon wolf haunts the caves. Although large for her species, there is not much to distinguish her, which makes it even scarier. Her fur is black, and her eyes gold, so you cannot see the blood of her prey until she has her fangs around your throat.
Her current confirmed kill count is four, but who knows how many she has killed? She speaks soft, kind words, and you will not know her until you lay on the ground, having your gem removed.
