[Event] A Twinkling I Heard on the Roof - Game Master Dark - Nov 29 2018

Deep in Pisces, not far off the grand waterfall pouring from the cave roof, another section of stone high above begins to tremble.

It shakes.

Dust drifts down, and an ominous rumbling fills all of Origin cave. It is an earthquake, of sorts, and the strength of its shaking is enough to be felt and followed from caves as far away as Monoceros and Cetus.

Cracks begin to form in the ceiling high above.

Thus begins A Twinkling Event! Anyone may join at any time.

RE: [Event] A Twinkling I Heard on the Roof - Dezba - Nov 29 2018

'cause i'm the big bad wolf
now let the games begin

It was the first prey she'd seen since the fire. She tracked it down, acave rat, gnawing on the scattered bone of some unlucky creature. Dezba's mouth started to water. She could not remember when she had last eaten, and signs of her hunger was starting to show through her thick, black coat.

With her green eyes trained on the rat, she slowly stalked forward, careful that her big paws did not make a sound. She had gotten so close she could practically taste it. Dezba began in to feel impatient, but she steadied herself. Cave rats were tricky, much like that know-it-all weasel, Envy. She had to get closer...

Suddenly the rocks above her began to tremble, startling the rat. Dezba grunted and frantically gave chase, but it had already disappeared into its hole. Dezba snarled and angrily kicked one of the bones. The she-wolf cut her eyes up, and the scrowl on her face faded into awe. Her coat bristled with fear. There were cracks forming in the ceiling.

"Listen to me."
Thoughts...

RE: [Event] A Twinkling I Heard on the Roof - Astaroth - Nov 30 2018

Astaroth was laying at the edge of the lagoon, staring deep into the waters, just... thinking. At first, he took the trembling deep in the stone of the cave as his mind playing tricks on him, then he saw the dust drifting down and he scrambled to his feet, looking up to the ceiling in amazement. "By the caves...." He muttered as his wide eyes stared up at the shaking ceiling, as he began to feel the ground tremble under his feet.

"Speaking."
Thoughts.

The little jaguarundi shifted her weight between her paws, uncomfortable and uneasy for a reason unknown to her before the shaking picked up enough for her to tell what was the cause. She swung her head up to the ceiling as a pebble fell down in front of her, seeing the ceiling shifting over her, her hackles raised and her tail bristled. She took a few steps back, hissing uneasily.

There was a crash, and a clatter. Suddenly, a good chunk of rock crumbled, collapsing with a dust-plume and a roar of smashing and rolling stone as it slammed into the ground below. Snow, bitter cold and pure white, poured down and out, washing over Pisces and coating it in a powdery white dust. The temperature of the caves dropped, an icy wind roaring from Pisces through the tunnels to the rest; snow would undoubtedly visit Origin for a time.

The impact shook the caves; above, more stone could be heard falling, crashing, settling into place, blocking the hole and whatever lay above. Below, however, the snow cloud slowly cleared...

And a figure stepped forth. It was tall, but not very tall; slender, with bulbous, sticky fingers that shone pink where the light struck them, and a glinting, rubbery blue-green skin. Tendrils of wispy white hair clung to its deer-like dewlap, and black antennae glistened where the light hit.

The figure crawled from the rubble and stood upright, glancing around, and then spoke in a mild, confused tone, its voice gentle. Large, black eyes blinked, a reflection of Pisces' water dancing over them.

"...Where am I?" he asked, bewilderedly. He sounded very alone, and even a little afraid. From the pile of snow and rock behind him, creatures--perhaps dropped from the hole above--began to spring out, peering around wide-eyed before racing past those present and into the tunnels behind. Caribou--brown ones, and white ones--little snow-white ptarmigan, and pure white Arctic hares--all tumbled past, clearly afraid.

"Oh!" cried the stranger. "My creatures!" He took a few stumbling steps after them, then halted, as if knowing he could not catch them.

Behind him, as the last of the snowflakes settled, a massive contraption became visible: a sled, of sorts, but studded at the forefront with a large glowing emerald, a sack strapped to the sleigh's rear. The alien creature turned, picking through the wreckage and lifting a large and jagged red gem that seemed to glow in Pisces' light, and inspected it. "...Now I can't tell who's been good, and bad," he lamented.

He looked toward Aeroth, toward Dezba and Astaroth, and hope crossed his face. "...Will you help me?"

RE: [Event] A Twinkling I Heard on the Roof - Xerxes - Dec 01 2018

The caves shook him awake, bones and dust falling all over Canis while he tried to sleep peacefully after arriving there from Orion when he ran into Eythan. It was hard to sleep with such going on, so naturally the lion stretched and rose, eager to find out where the sudden shaking had come from. Dust filled the room and Xerxes coughed, struggling to breathe as he made his way towards the exit. Following the sounds he could hear echoing through the tunnels, he eventually found his way to Pisces. The blanket of white shocked him and he paused at the entrance with wide eyes as he looked over the scene.

Others had already gathered and before them was this... thing holding a red stone similar to his own. Cautiously he stepped forward, feeling the cold wet of the snow between his toes. Approaching the others, he eyed the being suspiciously before looking to the others. "What's going on?" His tone was questioning, more unsure than anything really. He wasn't afraid; the being seemed timid at best, or at least non-aggressive. He couldn't be sure though, so his guard was raised while the being eyed their 'creatures', or so they called them. He wondered what the stone was for, and why they were asking for help from these others. Did they want them to gather their 'creatures' for them?

RE: [Event] A Twinkling I Heard on the Roof - Asimona - Dec 01 2018

Asimona soared through Pisces, feeling lighter then she had in a long time. It was like a weight had been thrown off her shoulders, a burden weighing on her back was broken away. There were still bits and pieces but she had a feeling she would be doing a lot better from now on. And she had children coming soon!

Suddenly, though, she felt a great burst of cold air and stopped her flight, beating her wings hard as she turned herself around. There was something happening. It looked like there had been some kind of landslide. Curious, she changed course and flew towards the place. There were some gembounds gathered below, as well as...something. A thing, standing amongst a pile of snow. This looked like her kind of thing!

She lowered herself until she could touch down on the ground and folded in her wings. She glanced at each member of the gathering and then turned back towards the thing, bluish figure. "Who are you? I've never seen anything like you before."

"Can you hear their voice?"
"Find the one who'll guide you."
To the limits of your choice.

RE: [Event] A Twinkling I Heard on the Roof - Auré - Dec 01 2018

Oh! Oh! Flight was such a freeing thing! From the first drop down the cliff face and his short bout of gliding with Eythan to his eager first escape from the bone vault, Aure had been elated. Never would he have thought the caves were so big! He wanted to fly and fly and fly and just keep going until he hit the other end! Then, he was going to come home and tell his family all about it and regale them with tales about the places he had explored, as if they had never been touched before.

Aure had flown as far as he could, just barely within Pisces. The earth shook and rumbled, preparing to split open and the little wyvern struggled to stay airborne in the shifting tides of wind. At one point, he drifted entirely too far to the left and smacked into the wall with a small yelp. In the same few seconds, a veritable parade of creatures big and small tore down the tunnel. He gathered himself up, curling up carefully and huddling far from enormous hooves and claws and paws.

Then, there were voices. "...Now I can't tell who's been good, and bad," a pause, "...Will you help me?" A large black creature shuffled by and a bassy voice rang, wondering what was going on. Cold shifted and tore at the little wyvern's feathers, seeping through the caves. Despite anything resembling common sense, the baby rocked up onto his feet. Hopping into the air, he flapped his wings frantically to get into the air and entered a frozen and frigid Pisces. Woah, that was a lot of Gembound. There was a weird-looking cat thing and something that looked vaguely to be the shape of Mother. It had weird marks over its blue eyes. Then, there was another one like the weird-marked one, but with green eyes. And there was a great big silver thing that was beautiful and looked like it truly belonged. The big black creature was a lot like Eythan but without stripes and a lot of fluff and skin. At the heart of all of the activity was a true oddity holding a sparkling gem in its wide fingertips.

Why was it so white here? As soon as the little wyvern landed --- squarely in front of the large creature holding the red gem --- he realized that it was deep and wet, and now he was soaked up to his stomach. With a small whine, he tried to stand up on his tippy toes. Anyways, time to help out this weird gembound, right? Yeah! "Me! I'm Aure! I'm a good boy! My Mother says so!"

RE: [Event] A Twinkling I Heard on the Roof - Astaroth - Dec 01 2018

Astaroth stared dumbly at a large boulder that had landed an inch from his snout, mumbling to himself for quite some time before jumping back with a cry "Fuck! You almost killed me!" He hyperventilated slightly before focusing on his breath, composing himself to try and save however little pride he had left in himself, however bruised it was. "For one, who the hell are you, and two, help you with what exactly?" He jumped up onto the boulder, scowling over at the creature and his glowing crystals.

"Speaking."

RE: [Event] A Twinkling I Heard on the Roof - Aeroth - Dec 01 2018

Aeroth hissed as a massive chunk of roof seemed to just fall in, before stepping down in wonder, approaching the creature in front of the wooden thing slowly. She laughed as she saw the black wolf freak out over the boulder, then try to play it off, it just made it funnier though she didn't think he realized. "What an odd creature" She thought, looking up at him, plodding straight up to him, then past him, investigating the emerald capstone on the front of the sled, then poking at the bag with her snout. ”What's in here?” She asked politely.
