Eyes in the Dark - Sanji - Mar 05 2019 Deep in a black Chrysalis situated in between the twin pools known as The Eyes was a snake whose name was Sanji. In the dark, the only thing of note were beady red eyes staring at the blackness that was the shell of the Chrysalis. It was with a powerful tackle that the shell cracked. It took a second one to break through. Once there was an exit big enough for the black mamba to ease through Sanji slithered out from the Chrysalis which he called his home for so long. Once Sanji was outside the beady red eyes took in the surrounding. His tongue would flicker out of his mouth allowing him to taste the air. Sanji quickly noticed the two twin pools that stood on either side of him. Slowly he slithered towards the pools and began to bathe in them whilst taking a quick drink. He liked the refreshing feel of water on his scales. While he bathed Sanji took the opportunity to look around once more and take in his surroundings. The area was too big for one glance and it would require some exploring to really see what this place was like and to really get a feel for the area he was in. RE: Eyes in the Dark - Vivi - Mar 05 2019 Vivi was curled up neat and smll in a white shell protected and hidden from the outside world. It was time for her to wake up and open her eyes for the first time. Vivi uncurled herself and eyes would open and would look in the darkness. Her claws would scratch and poke and push the shell until it cracked and broke and allowed her to see the world. She crawled out of the shell and wobbled a little when she walked. Vivi was surronded by plant life and greens it was very pretty and beautiful. Vivi walked and pushed through leaves and saw two pools and inside one pool was a black creature. Vivi wanted to meet a friend and this was a good chance. She did walk up to the edge of the pool and she did smile and speak. "Hello my name is Vivi who are you? I just came out of my shell and came in the outside world." Vivi would bend head down and take drink from the pool water then she would sit herself down beside the pool and look to the black creature. RE: Eyes in the Dark - Kera - Mar 05 2019 ![]()
Kera liked Eridanus but it sure could be boring, sometimes. She took to carefully patrolling since hearing about Blackberry and her-- as Pride put it --precious little murder-dumplings had attacked the place, she took to patrolling a little more carefully. She sniffed up every tree trunk searching for the scent of goose, or moose, or both, but not yet to any avail. Any scent she picked up was long stale, none of them had been by here in a small while, at least. The wolf shook herself out, reassuring herself quietly. She'd been about to leave, to turn and wander out the room, when she heard something. A very familiar, something. Crack. Kera's ears lifted, and then tilted back as she turned. Someone new? Someone breaking out of hibernation? Someone injured? The questions ran through her head quickly, before she actually started moving in the direction the sound came from. Another crack. The fur along Kera's spine bristled, and she half-expected to be attacked by a group of re-awakening Bloodberries, but when she turned the corner she saw... ... newborns. Oh, thank the caves, she thought, before approaching. They both smelled of fresh-hatchlings, of how chrysalises did right after they'd been broken. The wolf shook herself out a final time before setting herself down in the ferns. Non-threateningly. As non-threatening as a giant, broad, mushroom-stinking wolf can. "Uh, hello," she eyed the snake first. She knew snakes-- Winter had been a snake. Right? "Welcome to the caves. Or-- welcome back. I mean I think you're both new." Pale eyes offered a vague squint at the second; the pangolin. Kera, of course, had no idea what the hell a pangolin actually was. Was it a baby? An adult? She had no idea. "You two'll be hungry, right?" The wolf continued anyway, stubbornly refusing to be undeterred. "I can help you hunt if you want to eat bird or mouse or whatever." ![]() @Sanji RE: Eyes in the Dark - Sanji - Mar 05 2019 Sanji was not alone for long. A small plated creature walked up to him. He had not been surprised as he had heard the crack of the Chrysalis long before the creature had come into view. He looked to it and flicked out his tongue towards her to pick up her scent. She had introduced herself as Vivi but before he could reply another creature came up to them. This creature was much larger than both of them. She had welcomed them to the cave then offered to help the two of them hunt. He was hungry and he could do with some food, flicking out his tongue gave him too many scents at once and he wouldn't be able to catch much just yet "Greetings to you both. My name is Sanji and I am new to the outside world. I wish to learn as much as I could about this place as I can but first I would appreciate some food. Would there happen to be any mice close by? My senses have not adjusted to my surroundings yet. There are too many scents around. May I also ask who you what you are and perhaps your name too?" He looked to the newcomer talking specifically to her when he asked for a name. He wanted to know both of their species however so he could recognise the same species again in the future and name it. While he waited for them to speak he slithered out of the water and stopped beside the pangolin. His scales were a shiny black now that they had been washed. RE: Eyes in the Dark - Vivi - Mar 05 2019 Vivi saw and listened as another creature came closer and was much bigger than her and the other one. She spoke and her ears listened taking in the words she said. She welcomed them to the cave and she then asked if they wanted to hunt for food. She did listen as the black creature spoke again and called itself Sanji. He wanted to know what they were but she wanted to know what he was and what the other creature was. “Hello new creature. I am Vivi. I am a Giant Pangolin. Do you know where I can find some insects I can eat?” Vivi looked to the creature called Sanji then to the unknown creature. They were all very different. One had fur the other had scales and she had plates and skin. They were all different colours too. Vivi rolled into a tight little ball and begins to roll around the two creatures. After rolling around them a few times she uncurled herself and looked between them again. Now she stood in between the two of them. She liked to roll and she found it fun then she wondered if they could turn into a ball and roll and do what she could do but they were all so very different already she had a feeling they did not have that ability. Kera's attention was, firstly, gripped by the snake who called himself Sanji. He wanted mice. ... mice? Kera had hunted rats, but not mice. There used to be an abundance of them between tunnel N and tunnel O, the former where she'd made her den, but she didn't get to go there much anymore. It was unsafe. The wolf had to shake herself out before she thought too hard about Blackberry and her murder-dumplings, ears rotating briefly. She could certainly smell prey, but the scampering of tiny feet was difficult to pinpoint while there were hatchlings talking at her. One of them was asking who she was. Boy, did they make a mistake. "I'm Kera," she announced. "I'm a guardian, and a protector. A long time ago-- before you were born --the lights in the caves turned off--" she pointed her nose to a hanging orb of light, powered by the generator in Polaris. "--So I went and turned them back on. I'm the Lightbringer, now. Because I bring light, I guess." She did quite like Black's logic. Kera had no idea what a pangolin was (except, apparently, it's what Vivi was) but she shrugged this off fairly quickly. "You could try digging at soft spots in the cave," she suggested. "Eridanus is pretty much all soft spots, but if it feels hard under your paws then you'll probably hurt your claws trying to dig into it." To set an example, Kera drew one massive paw along the moss underfoot and raked it back until the rich soil was exposed underneath. With it, insects. An abundance of them. A beetle flew out and into the distance and a worm thrived and attempted to bury itself deeper into the earth, it's pink body quickly becoming flooded with brown soil. "Enjoy," Kera offered, as she halted another beetle from flight and tossed the twitching carcass towards Vivi. Turning her head back towards Sanji, her ears flicked. "Let's find you a mouse, huh?" ![]() @Sanji RE: Eyes in the Dark - Sanji - Mar 28 2019 Sanji listened to the creature that he still had no name for. Apparently, her name was Kera and she was the Guardian and Protector. She is the Lightbringer. It was actually very interesting and something he wanted to know more about later. The other creature, who was apparently a Pangolin called Vivi who wanted to eat insects. Kera demonstrated how to quickly find some. Once she had finished she had turned back to him. "Thank you for telling me about the lights and thank you for offering to help me. I do wish to know your species though. What are you Kera?" He slithered closer to her before flicking out his tongue again. As he kept flicking out his tongue he got used to the scents more and more. After he did some exploring he should be okay on his own. Right now however he was more interested in knowledge rather than food. So he stared at her waiting for her to answer his question and hopefully tell him what he really wanted to hear. Once he found out her species he could begin his quest for knowledge after he had eaten. @Kera @Vivi I apologise for making you wait. I went on holiday then had to take a short break. RE: Eyes in the Dark - Vivi - Mar 28 2019 Vivi did watch and did see that the one called Kera showed her how to find herself food. Vivi ate as many as she could with her long tongue and quick reflexes and then looked up back to the gembound and Kera. She was going to show the Sanji how to get food. Sanji did ask Kera her species again but Vivi noticed that Sanji had not told them what he was yet. “Thank you Kera I will remember that now. Sanji what species are you?" Vivi pressed paw to the soft ground to feel it and she did touch a small budding flower and then looked back to Sanji the flower emerges and grew with but a single touch. Sanji was waiting for Kera so when they were ready she would go with them. This place was big and she did not want to be on her own. @Sanji @Kera |
