hewwo, mister bonebound - Laurel - Jun 29 2019 Now, to most people in Canis, a barking, yapping dog was probably not what you'd want to wake up to. Too bad for them, Laurel thought. She was on a mission, searching through every nook and cranny for someone in particular. She saw him up on his perch place before, and he looked really cool, so maybe she could be a part of his group or something. She wanted to answer questions and fit in! Now, what was that group called? It was Bone something.. Bonebin? Bonebound! That was it! Opening her jaws, the little greyhound barked in every crevice, big or small, calling for someone she'd labelled as "Mister Bonebound!" Caves knew if she'd find anyone who would answer to the strange call. She knew he was a mister, and she knew he was their... Leader? That sounded right. So, obviously, his name must be Mister Bonebound. And on she trotted, calling out among the cave walls, ears perked for any response. She had important questions to answer, maybe. RE: hewwo, mister bonebound - Auré - Jun 29 2019 The first hour of barking went delightfully ignored, because it was distant and likely a visitor to Canis chasing after some of those stinky rats. @Laurel RE: hewwo, mister bonebound - Laurel - Jul 02 2019 The canine was in the middle of another call as the swooshing of wind caught her attention. Eyes going wide, her head swivelled almost on the spot to see The Mister Boundbound Himself. All at once, Laurel's tail began to wag uncontrollably, despite her breaking calm facade. She swallowed nervously. Had he just woken up? Oh, no, he was probably grumpy; she'd gotten grumpy a lot of times if she woke up to bad noises. But her words weren't bad were they? Her underdeveloped eyebrows furrowed ever so slightly as she thought, looking over the bird hybrid. After a beat, she came to her senses, shaking her head. "Um- Yeah!" She plopped her thinly furred butt on the ground, setting her forepaws in front of her at an odd angle. "I um... You seem really smart? I wanted to know about the um.. Bonebound?" Her head retreated into her chest as she politely questioned, trying her best to be the nicest and least feral she could be. "I can um.." What could she do? "I can be a friend? Um.. And.. Find.. Bones for you? You like to collect bones, right?" She'd remember them mentioning something about someone else's bones? Hopefully that'd be enough to win over the older being. RE: hewwo, mister bonebound - Auré - Jul 02 2019 Well, one thing was for certain: this kid sure was eager, and most certainly eager to please. Her enthusiasm was rather contagious, and Aure couldn't help but to perk up with the energy osmosis that resulted. His tail wagging slightly --- though nowhere near close to the mach-speed Laurel's was approaching --- the wyvern dipped his head, bright eyes coming to be level with hers. @Laurel RE: hewwo, mister bonebound - Laurel - Jul 04 2019 Laurel's smile morphed to a grin as the bird seemed to lighten. Yes! He wasn't grumpy! She caught him at the best time, then. "Yeah!" was all her mouth could produce as he spoke, wiggling body eagerly absorbing and latching onto every word mister Bonebound spoke. She was glad the Bonebounds could be her friend. She could be all of their friends! Bones would give her friendship! Tail thumping against the dusty floor, her paws scooted forward in interest as she stared right at the bird hybrid. "Okay! I will protect them!" Part of her was just parroting what the leader was saying. She wanted to be a part of this friendship, so she had to give something to them like they'd give to her! She couldn't help to latch on to the challenge, though. Determination flickered across her face as she straightened up, her body going almost rigid. "I'm uh.. Laurel," she spoke after a pause, before a sly, one-sided smile raised the corner of her lip. "I bet I could find a bone bigger than you!" Declaring her supposed victory, the excited child stood and went straight back into motion, her tail wagging faster than ever. Her elbows hit the ground hard as her butt raised into the air. The classic play-bow stance. "I'll find one right now! And I'll be nice to it and protect it! And then I could be your friend!" Words fired rapidly from her mind to her tongue, eyes wide like a cat who'd just found the catnip. RE: hewwo, mister bonebound - Auré - Jul 23 2019 As Laurel gradually grew more and more riled up, nearly wiggling out of her own skin, Aure couldn't help but go a little feral himself; despite his attempts to uphold the cool-calm leader persona, each motion of his became more exaggerated and childish, clearly taking cues from an actual puppy. His head bobbed up and down, body swaying to accommodate it as he greeted her with a low wooop! Laurel's very own woop! @Laurel RE: hewwo, mister bonebound - Laurel - Jul 29 2019 Laurel yipped in surprise and excitement at the whoop. What a weird noise! She loved it! A few 'whoop's of her own were thrown back, but they were mostly just open-mouthed barks instead of odd bird hyena noises. Still, she could try! The words and playbow only drove Laurel on further. She was just about ready to burst out of her skin! Yes, yes! Her tongue lolled out in a playful grin as she bounced about. She couldn't wait! She could taste victory already! Though, she had to will herself to hold still at the countdown. A deathly seriousness came over her, her pupils focusing on some distant thing. She had to focus. Bending down like a sprinter before a race, she eyed Aure as he counted. She couldn't wait- she had to go-! The moment the final number passes Aure's beak did Laurel shoot off into the pile, nearly bowling over her lanky legs. She had to find one, she had to get the perfect one! Her head was poked and prodded by several broken bits of bone as she rummaged through the pile, nearly diving right in to swim amongst the dead. Her promise of being nice to the bones could be seen as being broken in her frantic excitement. It wasn't long after that she went diving, though, that she popped her head up with a fairly sizable, yet intact, femur in her jaws. It was nearly too big for her to carry, but she proudly held it up and pranced back to the clearing she met Aure in. She was careful to place it down to the floor, her tail slapping at her thighs when she sat. "Found one!" She trumpeted with glee, watching to see what Aure would find. |
