A Fool's Experiment - Max - Jul 12 2019 ![]() Max wasn't hungry, but he was bored. The little den he had claimed for a few days was nice, but there was nothing to do. So he stood, licked his Teddy Bear goodbye, and trotted out, shaking his long, filthy fur out. Time to find something to play with! Or eat! He liked eating, and he liked playing, and hunting was kind of like playing right? So when a Cave Mouse crossed his path, he began to chase. He wasn't the most co-ordinated Gembound, and he stumbled a few times, but eventually he managed to catch it in his teeth, and it met a rather swift end. RE: A Fool's Experiment - Max - Jul 12 2019 ![]() Max liked Cave Mice. They were small and only a mouthful, but they tasted sooo good. He began to feast, but he wasn't hungry, and only managed half of it, grumbling unhappily. Maybe Teddy would like the rest? So he scooped up what remained of the Cave Mouse, and trotted back to his den, setting the Cave Mouse at Teddy's base before flopping to the ground and beginning to snore. RE: A Fool's Experiment - Max - Jul 12 2019 ![]() When Max woke, he turned, and was very confused. There was no Cave Mouse, only a heap of nasty smelling goop. ...maybe it would taste better a second time? RE: A Fool's Experiment - Game Master CJ - Jul 14 2019 Though it was not a lot of the substance, any of it was enough to corrupt even the most gentle and loving minds. In Max's case, the pitiful life of a lesser may have saved his own; had he sampled from something larger and more intelligent, the amount of magical presence may have been enough to kill him. The goo is highly poisonous, both to the mind and to the body...
However, due to the lesser's weaker magic, it would become a mild corruption, slowly eating away at his mind until he no longer is himself. It will manifest first in his eyes, giving them a neon-green sheen; and then in his veins, turning his blood to oily sludge; and finally in his overall appearance, making him sickly and frail, and nearly rabid at first glance with excessive drooling and occasional bouts of snarling or snapping. Max will suffer the following consequences: — Overwhelming vertigo
— Toxic saliva, even to himself — Vomiting if too much toxic saliva is swallowed; he may dilute with water — Loss of self awareness — Loss of control when using magic — Eventually, in 13 Cycles, he will be completely fueled by chaos and no longer be himself — If Max rolls a 1 or 20 using magic, he may die. Request GM to post for save possibilities, but rolls are not guaranteed of course! It is unknown what may cure Max, if anything. His fellow Gembounds may aid him but it will not be clear to others what caused this change unless he is able to tell them himself. @Max |
