Rained In - Alastor - Jul 16 2019 For many days, it had rained on and off in Monoceros. It was nothing short of light showers, but the strong winds whipping through the canyons made each drop feel like tiny needles. Alasator had taken shelter in Gorge. There, he spent his time exploring the many caves that pocketed the trenches when a downpour was upon him. The respite from the stinging rain was nice, but for a boisterous child like Alastor, the solitude was very boring. He longed to frolic and play with others of his own kind. So far, the only thing that came close was rock the size of his nose. He kicked it around like a ball, trotting after it as it rolled away down the narrow tunnels. Eventually, Alastor made a game of trying to out run the rock. He'd roll it down a steep incline then race after it, attempting to catch it before it reached the bottom. He tried it a few times with the help of wind magic, but it became to easy. So, for an added challenge, he banned its use. For first couple of times, the colt tripped over his own legs, tumbling down with the rock, but the Twister didn't hatch no quitter! He tried again and again, growing more frustrated with each time it bounced through his legs. Swishing his tail, Alastor picked the stone back up and trotted up the incline once again. He was determined to win to this game, for no puny rock was going to beat Alastor the Twister-Born! He set the rock down and with a push from his muzzle, it tumbled down, down. Alastor waisted to no time. Almost immediately, he broke into a downhill gallop. The stone floor was hard on his legs but the colt's determination was harder. Towards the end he scrambled, careening as he spun to face the rock. It bounce off the floor and smacked him in the face. Alastor shieked. His forelegs slipped from under him and he slid, catching the rock with his shoulder. HA! I DID IT! Alastor popped up and stomped on it with his hoof. His silver eyes gleamed triumphantly as he gave a joyful nicker. Blood trickled from his nostril, but the colt could care less about pain in his nose right now. "TAKE THAT, STONE! I AM UNSTOPPIBLE!" His exultant cry echoed loudly through the Gorge. "Speech." Thoughts... |
