Hatching of children - Zelk - Jul 20 2019 Zelk waited anxiously next to the chrysalises of her children who were due to hatch any day now. She laid down near them, watching with a hint of excitement. So many questions raced through her head, though the most popular one was what they would look like. The polar bear let out a large huff as she waited. Zelk would have to speak to Aure about them, just to confirm their affiliation to the Bonebound. Zelk was a first time mother, and a protective one at that. Now, all the polar bear had to do was wait. Patience was a virtue, so she decided to simply wait for nature to take its course. @Pubber @Gaul RE: Hatching of children - Gaul - Jul 20 2019
RE: Hatching of children - Pubber - Jul 20 2019 The other child did not grow as much as the amber, but what the black opal's crystal lacked in size, it surely made up for in color. Glistening specks of rainbow seemed to shift hue day after day, until finally, the sound of a crack disturbed the sleeping baby inside. A muffled moo wormed its way through the thick walls of the chrysalis, and in return, the unborn child dreamed and wondered. The black opal, only half the size of its sibling, began to vibrate and sing. The low pitched melody hummed, and the stone began to wobble back and forth in place, until it dislodged itself and rolled toward its mother, unwittingly. There was a crack that split the rainbow crystal, and with a flail of vibrant pink paws, an eyesore was born into the world. Fuchsia eyes stared up at the pure white fur of Zelk, but she remained quiet all but for the quiet hum of the stone around her. @Zelk RE: Hatching of children - Zelk - Jul 20 2019 Zelk waited with her head on her paws, she was suddenly jolted up by the sound of one of the chrysalises splitting in half. She turned towards the sound and saw a calfcub that let out a loud mooo. The mother studied it for a quick second, but before she could even think of going towards the first one, something else happened. The other chrysalis started to vibrate and sing beautifully. Then it broke, and a bright pink cub came from it. Zelk was now blessed with two cubs. Now with both of them out, she was able to study them more properly. The first one seemed to be a mix of a herbivore and polar bear. It had her paws, white color, and other attributes. Yet it had horns and it's back legs ended in hooves. The other was bright pink with bright pink eyes and pink horns. A lovely piece of bright art, is how she saw her pink daughter. Zelk then talked to her two children. She first turned to the calfcub, already having names in mind for both of them. "Your name is Gaul. As an older sibling it's your job to look after your younger sister, because you are family. Family is important." Zelk was unsure if Gaul could understand her, but they would learn in time. She then spoke to the pink cub. "Your name is Pubber. You may be bright pink and stand out, but always remember that despite that, you are a beautiful piece of art on the inside and outside." Zelk stepped back and now had her attention on both of them. "Can either of you understand me?" Zelk had heard from Orlaith that some gembound hatched knowing how to speak, and others hatched not knowing how to speak or understand speech. Zelk decided to ask just to make sure whether she should teach them to speak or if they already knew. @Gaul @Pubber RE: Hatching of children - Gaul - Jul 20 2019
@Pubber RE: Hatching of children - Pubber - Aug 06 2019 The newborn stared, eyes wide and unblinking as Zelk spoke to her and her brother. After a few heartbeats, the bright pink child looked toward Gaul. Her ears twisted this way and that as she processed what she was told... Gaul. Pubber. It was a bit much for the young child to immediately grasp, but Gaul began to speak, and they looked toward her in return. She stared, and blinked once when they answered in affirmation of the large white bear. Then, Gaul asked if the polar bear was Moother. It was a strange word, and the brown hybrid's slurring did not help her understand it. She looked back to Zelk, opening her mouth. At first, only a tiny squeak came out like a chew toy being stomped on. Pubber gulped, and tried again. "Pubber? Who... who?" She struggled to word, raising a paw to gesture at her mother, and nearly stumbled over without all four paws underneath her. @Zelk (so sorry about the wait!!) |
