Toast Is Delicious - Esther - Jan 13 2020

Esther had found this area completely by chance. They were interested in the foliage in this specific area, though. The greens of the place were quite nice to look at- to destroy. Esther had found that breaking things that were around, or alive was fun. Just not ones that they had not meant to hurt in the first place.

Plants, were her most favorite. They were easily killed and easily destroyed, and couldn't tell her how they felt because of it. It really was interesting. And Fun! The young Maned Wolf weaved through the extremely tall ferns. They were especially tall to the leggy creature. The legs of Esther were not yet grown to what they would be in the future. Alike that of a gazelle.

For now, though, they simply weaved through the tall... green... things. Esther was still young, so they didn't fully understand life and what came with it. Yet. Just give them a little while and they would be fully grown, and ready to take on the world. For now, though, they were just small. Esther wanted to have some fun!

And fun they would have. Maybe. Hopefully.

Maybe they should have taken the fact that they could fail in account. Instead of casting the thing that would catch everything else on fire, it simply... didn't work. Ah. How sad. Nothing really happened, either.

why change the past
when you could own this day

Somewhere, high up in the emerald canopy, Riffi broke free from her egg-shaped chrysalis. She stretched her wings and yawned, then shook off the remaining moonstone fragments stuck to her tail. Riffi blinked her fuchsia eyes and gaze around at her beautiful nest. She sighed with satisfaction. All of her hard work was still here. She had woven a collection of colorful gems and trinkets into her nest and when the light hit it just right, it bathed her home in rainbows. He had to rebuild it since the last fire. That was the thing about living in Eridanus. It was beautiful a place, unfortunately had a tendency to attract pyromaniacs.

Riffi hopped out of her nest scurried along her perch. She wondered how long she slept. It felt like a ages but Eridanus was just as green as when she left it. What had changed? What hadn't? She wanted to explore the rest of the caves and find out, but first, food. Riffi was famished.

She took off into air, eyes peeled for some grub. Her flight tooked her down towards the Fern Trench. Usually there were some fat lizards down there. She perched on an over hanging branch and scanned the greenery. She dropped a twig down there for good measure. Usually the little buggers would come scurrying out.

Suddenly, the smell of smoke wafted through her nose. Her crest rose. Aw shit, here we go again. She didn't have to look far to find the culprit. It was a lomg-legged pup running through the gorge with hot feet. No wonder the lizards aren't coming out.

Riffi bristled. Someone had to teach this little twerp some manners. She flew down towards him, squawking harshly. "HEY YOU, HOT PAWS!" She called out before landing in front of them. "WHAT THE HECKLE DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING??" The blue jay puffed herself up, trying to appear bigger then took a few hops towards them. Usually bigger creatures didn't know what to think when she did this. However, she never tried it on a fellow gembound.

"Listen to me."

Esther was confused, to say the least, when a strange creature interrupted her fun time. Of course, their spell had not worked, so only the smell of smoke wafted the air. Their toes felt hot, but nothing really happened to say the least. Nothing caught fire. Just... an odd smell that Esther liked very much. It just showed how much of a pyro they were. The scent of fire and smoke were something they liked very much, and it was incredibly nice to their nose.

They stared at the blue creature. It... was interesting. Small, but odd looking. Puffed up like that, Esther wasn't sure what the thing was trying to do. They barked at the bird, but didn't really know what to say. "FuN!!" The canine barked back, voice cracking. They really were just trying to have fun. Even if fun was burning down an entire area.
