[Read-Only] Chasing the Forest - Game Master CJ - Mar 15 2020

Backdated to be set directly after: [EVENT] Fount THESE legs!

Venari returned to her den with the moonstone, shuffling about the clutter she had left in her wake. She spent a short moment brushing her chrysalis pieces to the far wall of the den, creating a pile of glittering diamond debris that she would likely use as a bed of some kind.

As she tidied a bit of her den, she took a moment to stare at the painting that had been done on her wall. Venari could not say why, but she loved it. She did not even know what to call it. Already, she was making plans to find someone to bauble pieces of her chrysalis so that she could hang them near this... painted bit of wall, so that it could glitter properly.

After that, she admired the moonstone for a while, holding it up to the light and watching hints of light blue swirl inside of it. Not much time passed before a voice caught her attention, and she shifted her sight to the mouth of her cavern.

"Have you completed the task, Hunter?" asked the voice.

Lowering herself to see him at eye level, she nodded. "Venari, the Hunter," she corrected. "And yes." She held out the moonstone for his inspection.

Astraea regarded it with disgust, and then looked at it no more. "Venari," he stated smoothly. "Did you learn anything from it? The others have truly fled?"

Venari nodded again. "Yes. Atinneas claimed their leader believes in peace—"

"Atinneas?" Astraea broke in.

"The lion gembound who was the host of this moonstone," Venari clarified.

"I see." It occurred to Astraea that he had not learned her name. "Their leader is a plant chrysoberyl and calls himself Rift," the deer said, his ruby eyes steady on Venari's. "You will find him and his group and define for them..." he turned to leave, a rippling of fungi rolling across his pelt, "peace."

"Understood," she replied, watching him leave.

Well, she didn't really understand... But she could feel from his voice that the intention was not actually meant to be peaceful. She mulled about her den for a moment longer, finding a high and hidden shelf to tuck the moonstone away in before heading back out into Eridanus.
