[Event] April RULES!!! - Game Master Dark - Mar 31 2020

Giggling. Cackling. Babbling!

The furry fuzzballs--all round torso and racing limbs, and big ol' jagged mouths--bounced to and fro as they opened wide the door. An unknown door--hidden beneath the dust--but it was time to share! How kind of them. Jingling bells tied to their feet left happy jangling noises as they moved.

Inside was a mysterious place. A magical place. A place of wonder, and, ahh... unique... Uniqueness.

...Yes, it was definitely unique.

Within this strange alcove, beyond the door tended by the scattering, bouncing, furry imps, lay a large room all its own: with enormous glowing fungi, gigantic plants that towered high overhead, blades of grass six feet tall... even the pebbles seemed oversized, and the jingling of bells echoed all around.

Was it truly a gigantic room, or a tiny one with a strange magic to it-? There was only one way to find out.

__________

Entering the APRIL RULES!!! room has some RULES all its own! Any spell cast should tag a GM before results are roleplayed! Otherwise, who knows what's in store, for those who brave its (possibly) enormous depths..?

RE: [Event] April RULES!!! - Orthoclase-Alpha - Apr 01 2020

With all of that armor, extra limbs, and quills, it was easy to forget that the orthoclase had at least a little cat in it. Well... it wasn't even a bit of domestic cat but... anyways...

When it heard a slight jingling, Alpha zeroed in on it. Some strange instinct forced its way to the front, kicking hunting mode into full override. It'd dropped lower, steadying its usually somewhat heavy breathing, creeping closer and closer until - there! The monstrous hybrid lurched forwards, arms swinging out to snag even a little bit of one of those imps. Its claws came up empty, but it was childishly persistent (and absolutely enthralled by the jingling of bells.)

Alpha didn't even bat an eye with a door was unearthed by them, revealing some odd manner of room. It could shoulder through the grass, even though the top of each blade tickled at its throat. Acidic eyes glanced here and here, scanning the gills of the gigantic fungus. This room wasn't as awe-inspiring as Orion was the first time, but... it was strange to be clambering through a place that made it feel...

... small.

Quills rattling uncertainly now, it felt out for heartbeats, calling on magic it thought was familiar.

RE: [Event] April RULES!!! - Hecate - Apr 01 2020

Hecate was just a little bit lost. Being mostly-blind was bad enough, but when one navigated primarily by sound, the sudden jingling of bells all around was just a tad disorienting.

"Excuse me," she demanded haughtily (of no one in particular) as she felt the first blades of impossibly-tall grass brush her feathers. She turned, this way and that, unaware of the fact that she'd somehow wandered out of Orion proper and into a bizarre, oversized world of potential danger.

She paused to listen, sharp hearing telling her more than green-tinted, blurred vision. Unease flickered through her then, at last; there was nothing of the familiar, here. The soft, somehow ominous laughter was disturbing to her.

Taloned claws clenched the dirt, gripping tensely, and she called on her magic. A wisp--to guide her, light her vision a little better... and throw at anyone who might attack her.

It flickered into being: a phosphorescent light that hissed into the air beside her and then bobbed there, moving in seemingly random twitches this way, then that; but Hecate was reassured by its presence.

RE: [Event] April RULES!!! - Luster - Apr 01 2020

Luster had re-emerged not long ago.

She was still rather disoriented, and she couldn't find Mama-zon. Or Pride, or Reign, or any of the others for that matter.

But she did find nose--giggling and cackling and jingling. And she'd always been painfully curious, so she slunk towards it, eyes wide, gasping at the... thingies at the door, "What-what-what are you-you-you?" she chattered, before darting into the room, and into the grass. 'Wow!'

What was all this? She'd never seen anything like this before, and it was cool! Mama would love this, and she wanted nothing more than to turn back and bring her, but she hadn't found Mamazon so she instead raced through the grass, giggling loudly.

"Sometimes you need a second chance,"
'because you weren't quite ready for the first.'

RE: [Event] April RULES!!! - Reign - Apr 01 2020

Reign was many things.

Proud, yes. Regal, well, he tried to be.

So it was very easy to forget that he was also a cat. A strange looking one, all long legs and marked fur, but a cat all the same.

So when he heard the jingling, he jolted awake, eyes going wide, ears twitching. What was that? He stood, took a moment to shake himself, and bounded forward, following the sounds, dropping into a crouch as he neared.

Those things, he didn't know what they were but they sadly looked to be greater so he dropped into a stalk, before leaping forward and sprinting into the room, skidding to a stop and standing tall as he took it all in. He felt, suddenly, very, very small. "What is this?" he reached for his magic, wanting to be ready if something happened.

RE: [Event] April RULES!!! - Krozz - Apr 01 2020

Krozz decided she preferred the eastern caves- full of life and plants and places to hide. Being in this cave, filled only with rubble and strange crystals, made her uneasy. It was pretty, though, with it's ceiling scattered with glowing crystals. She thought about trying to take one, but all the crystals she'd seen so far were large, and attached to the floors, walls, or ceiling of the cave. She kept her eyes open for any loose bits of glowing crystal, but was equally as alert for any sign of danger.

When she heard a strange jingling, Krozz immediately turned to face the source of the noise- strange, hyperactive furballs. She watched, cautious, as they opened a door into a room that was absolutely massive. She gave the imps a wary glance and a wide berth as she made her way into the new cave.

Already being a small hatchling, Krozz felt like an insect while exploring this cave. The huge blades of grass made it difficult for her to navigate. While trying to make her way through the forest of gigantic grass, Krozz ran right into the hind leg of a hybrid stranger. Her teeth clacked uncomfortable against her gemstone as she bumped against the stranger's leg. She backed up, looking up awkwardly at the gembound she'd ran into.
"..Sorry..." She mumbled, unused and adverse to talking, but aware it was something she should do in this situation.

"Words Words."

RE: [Event] April RULES!!! - Game Master Dark - Apr 01 2020

With great grass comes great bugsponsibility.

Reign's magic provided not static sparks, but a sudden blast of pure energy that ripped into the plants ahead and cleared a long, broad path before him.

A slow, quiet drone became a loud buzz, and a gigantic Rainbow Bumblebug, all vibrantly-colored bristles, hovered into view. The thing was as clumsy as any Bumblebug, and its gentle bouncing off of the plants and terrain might have been adorable if it hadn't been a solid six feet long.

The Bumblebug buzzed past Reign, up the newly-cleared path but oblivious to his presence, and then lifted up and away out of sight amongst the gigantic fungi.

Harmless enough... except for the sudden thrashing as it went out of sight, and a frantic, strange almost... squeaking sound. What looked like glossy dew shook and trembled, and it became quickly apparent that a gigantic spider's web had ensnared the oversized Bumblebug.

A single boat-sized leaf broke from its stem, and fell away, exposing the huge spiderweb beyond: and the twenty-foot-broad Silk Spider now spinning the poor bee into a cocoon in the center.

The Silk Spider, all glinting gold and slender limbs, paused--and its many eyes lifted to regard the Gembound down below.

All around the bells continued to tinkle now and then, little giggles audible, and the constant rustling just out of sight promised a great many beings wandering through the giant blades of grass.

RE: [Event] April RULES!!! - Orthoclase-Alpha - Apr 01 2020

Alpha had never paid mind to a bug for a single second of it's life. Even as a child, it hadn't cared much for them; mostly because there was a great absence of them in Tunnel P and it was too big to bother with chasing after them. But this one... a great beast six feet long and all shimmering colors! As big as it was, it could still fly. It seemed clumsy, though - and certainly a lesser.

Acidic eyes widened almost comically as it moved out of sight and burst into a squeaking noise. It approached, quills rattling with trepidation - and gawked at the spider revealed.

It was love at first sight, a predator large and worthy enough for hunting and combat. Lesser or not, the orthoclase was going to fight it. When it paused to look at the Gembound below, Alpha sauntered out in front of them all - not at all caring what they might have to say - and barked up, "fight me!"

The kaiju was already reaching for magic again, gnashing its teeth as if that would aid in generating toxins more efficiently. It tensed up, expecting a flurry of fangs, limbs, something to meet its challenge.

RE: [Event] April RULES!!! - Hecate - Apr 01 2020

Now that she was fully in the room, with the grass blades towering high overhead, the wisp didn't feel like all that much reassurance.

Hecate was just struggling to add a second to the first (rolling) when someone--something--bumped into her.

She squeaked, leaping back, feathers puffing out in an instant and talons at the ready. Green-shaded half-blind eyes blinked wide, trying and failing to spot what had hit her. -But whatever it was had apologized, at least, and she straightened, after a moment, still looking about.

"Hmph! Well, then," was all she said, at first, snootiness in every syllable. Yet it was unsettling, being unable to see them. Her eyesight was a green blur at the best of times, but Krozz was not only low to the ground but blending in well with it; and against the green hue, they were barely visible at all.

"Do try to watch where you're going. But on that matter--have you any idea where we are?" she trilled.

The rustling and clattering she could hear all around was... unsettling, and the buzzing that had passed them by, though to Hecate, the more distant silk spider was entirely out of her range of vision.

RE: [Event] April RULES!!! - Deli - Apr 01 2020

Deli
Deli found the little cavern a bit later then the rest of them, wandering through Orion, collecting rocks and feathers and other things they could use for their arts and crafts when the movement of the gembounds caught their eye. Well, actually, the movement of one particular Large creature caught their eye and they froze.

They flashed back, for a second, to a moment of pure agony - glass spearing through their abdomen, a creature shorter then it, but brutal and strong. A tense meeting when they reemerged. They had thought it was fullgrown back then but now? Now it was huge, way taller then Deli had expected it to ever be. It was a good thing, then, that they'd fought it earlier. They probably wouldn't have survived a fight against it now.

But, well, no matter. Their lips curled into a smile and they trotted after them, paws curling around the strap of their bag as they gave chase, falling in behind the group as they walked into the glade. Their eyes went wide as they looked around, jaw dropping with awe at what they were seeing. It...this was totally impossible! Insanity! Everything was HUGE!

They regarded the area with childish excitement, tail wagging furiously behind them as they turned, looking around at everything they could get their eyes on. The sudden burst of magicka had them jumping and they looked over at the cheetah, covered in sparks and, apparently totally unconcerned for their own safety, reached over and patted him on the head. "Woah, slow down there, sparky! No need to be so crazy!" They followed their words with a giggle as static jumped through their nerves, making their brain all fuzzy.

They tried to reach out with senses, but they couldn't focus on the spell. They wanted to know what else was out there, though - with their ears or eyes or whatever they could. There was a big spider there, sure, but there had to be other things too! "No idea!" they chirped up in response to the owl, walking up to one of the shoots of grass and poking it with a paw. "But it sure is funky!"
