little shade, little shade - Hikari - Apr 21 2020

HIKARI
Throw away the light, the definitions, and say what you see in the dark.

It seems to be a dreamless sleep that Hikari has found himself in. A hibernation that feels like it stretches on for eternity; who can say how many cycles he has spent in his hyacinth chrysalis while the world went on beyond him?

Needless to say, he is awake, now—and he quickly finds the amniotic fluid he’s immersed in rather unpleasant.

Not to mention containing very little air.

The kick he gives to the inside of the chrysalis in the process of shattering the thing around him is displeased, to say the least—although rationally he knows the chrysalis has done nothing to him except merely exist, well… he’s been in hibernation for caves know how long.

He can afford a bit of irrationality.

He practically sighs with relief at the sights and sounds of familiar Cetus; the protective mist swirling around him, the muddy, humid smell in the air, the distant screaming calls of his favorite birds… ah, it’s good to be awake.

Now, where was he?

He flicks his wings idly as he thinks and winces internally at the wetness still clinging to him, the bits of gemstone shards that have lodged themselves in his feathers disorderly and unbecoming.

Well; that’s something he has to deal with.

He scans his surroundings and begins to make his way to the nearest pool of water; murky as it may be, at least it’ll help with cleaning this fluid off his feathers before it dries and becomes all sticky.

Disgusting.

RE: little shade, little shade - Purity - Apr 23 2020

He’d come to Cetus after hearing rumors of beasts of entropy, searching out through swathes of disgusting muck and grime, fending away the beasts that dared to prey on him.

It wasn’t easy going. He hadn’t found much, but there was a pile of rot he could dare to take advantage of. Who had supplied it? Had the dying beings of Cetus simply gathered there to meet their ends? Well- he’d mess with it at a later date. It was too far from the altar to visit so often, anyways.

But, as he searched for more signs of the black, the striking sound akin to glass breaking drew his head. Feline pupils drew to slits as he stepped high, his belly fur dragging through the mud as he trotted to the epicenter of noise. Ah- there, blue walked in front of him, marred through the purity of white lashing across its body. Hm.

He drew close, walking like a cat with tape stuck to its paws. When he was close enough, he stopped, his tail high as he looked over the bathing bird. Hm- a being who enjoyed cleanliness like him. But why was it in this dank room? Deciding to leave the answers for later, Purity stood up straighter and rose his voice to a greeting. ”Hello- I hope I’m not bothering you?” If he had perceptible eyebrows, they’d be raised in the rare genuine interest.
