Suggestions - Origin Cave - Apr 28 2015
This thread is where users can post suggestions to Origin. Suggestions can be anything relevant to the forum or the roleplay. You are free to discuss suggestions on this thread, and it will be periodically reviewed by staff. Please note that not all suggestions will be implemented, and staff will usually discuss the suggestions with users regarding why or why not they are feasible.

I couldn't find the review thing but I found this instead so LOL
but I think the prizes for completing threads are too high. All you need to do is complete a 20 post thread and then you basically can just buy a new spell. This isn't necessarily a bad thing but I feel that by the end of this month or next month everyone will essentially have all the magic they want and there will be nothing to strive towards. So I'm basically just suggesting a decrease in the amount of Magicka one can earn from doing things such as that? Just to keep spells more special and make it a goal to attain c:

Alternative solutions: Add more spells, SO MANY MORE SPELLS, or increase the prices of the higher level spells but a lot more (but i dont like that so much) .. I'd say keep the beginner spells where they are, though.
I also think it would be cool to have spells that you need to do a specific Quest or something to get, maybe having requirements like knowing two other specific spells before you can even do the quest...
Honestly I like how fast it is right now, because it really rewards activity, but maybe a decrease in thread finish rewards or even INCREASING the posts needed for higher levels (a Long thread maybe should be like 10 or 20 pages?)
I mean we get plenty of points just from posting as is, I think it should definitely be tweaked but there's lots of options other than giving us less shinies (because everyone likes shinies) -- these are just some of my thoughts though :'D
i think it would also be cool to have an "above" mastery spell, one that you can only unlock if you have that magic naturally (so no Secondary Above Mastery Spells) at least 3 of every tier of spell (currently that's every single one) and you have to do a special quest? It would be really difficult to do, and probably require lots of successful die rolls! I think that'd be sweet, and something to strive for-- who can be the first Ultimate Master of Fire, etc :'D

Hmmm, noted! Here's what we're considering right now:
- Decreasing completed thread rewards (i agree, i do think they are too high)
- Increasing number of posts needed to attain thread rewards (say, 15+ for a medium instead of 10+)
- More spells (definitely more spells in the future)
---> On this note, I do like the idea of higher level spells, as well as spells only attainable through special circumstances
- Increasing the price of High Intensity spells
- We're also working on a Magicka sink that will offer rewards if people use Magicka on it :)
I know it's a lot, but don't worry, we won't go overkill! We would like to see you guys have to work a little harder for your Magicka though! ;P

profiles, an error I noticed, user's dob the month doesn't show up even when unhidden lul
also! just thought of a new thing that would be kina neat. users can add each other to buddy lists yeah? maybe have like a little scroll bar thing on user's profile listing the buddies. (under the other section or something) and that way users can keep a log of all the characters their's have met and get along with er something :D
to further that, have like a 100-200 character text box limit to adding how the character feels about the other one, maybe a little ratio button that selects a pixel of agreement (friend-enemy) that shows next to the name.
ie:
(dislike image) Bravo "why you gotta be such a n00b"
(love image) Leon "omg so sexy"

Re: buddy list, noted! We do have a working buddy system, I could always retcon that into a character-based feature instead?
And re: birthdays, yeah, I'm still not sure why it does that! I took a quick look but couldn't figure it out.

I have a suggestion for a tagging system. Like I've seen before on another site when you type in @[usernamehere] it sends them a PM so they know they got a reply.

Briar - I actually looked into that, there's a mybb plugin for a tag system but its for an earlier version of mybb. I may be able to fix it up to work with the version we use though? I'll give it a shot :T
