[WRESTLING] Glaive vs. Elias - Glaive - Jul 22 2020
How does a near-grown Spinosaurus find her way into a wrestling ring? That's not for anyone to know but herself - and it was highly debatable that she knew.
If she were to be honest, though, she wasn't sure what exactly she was doing here, or what to do. She'd watched another match or two, and got the general gist of the rules - no making people bleed, killing, et cetera. Nothing Glaive ever did on a daily basis. But... fighting and wrestling weren't common parts of her life, either. Her and Blight had their tussles, but contact was pretty minimal. Didn't want to chance sickness, and the whelp thought that maybe he wasn't into physical combat at all. Making sick was pretty much his specialty.
Baby blues blinked into the arena, and she lumbered forwards on her knuckles. Hunkered down as much as she could be, she stared at the alligator across the way.
Brainwave.

From the seats, Kaimana eyed the arena. She was here for one reason only: Glaive.
Sports, fighting, all that kinda stuff never really intrigued her. Perhaps her body harbored some acratia because of that disinterest, but she was still happy as a clam. Because she spent her time finding such things as clams instead of battles.
Even so, what mattered to her more than all the fish in the sea were the ships that glided smoothly atop it; the friendships. Glaive was her very first.
And if Glaive was going to do this, then Kaimana was going to support her, darn it!
Along with her she'd brought her Serandite, set it beside her paw on her own seat. It had been alive once, according to Pride. Had it ever experienced the surface? Had it ever had a friend, managed to make one while swimming down beneath those depths, in darkness?
If it hadn't, perhaps now Kaimana would give it its chance. Maybe Glaive would want to meet this gemstone as well, after she was done. A reward, perhaps, for her inevitable victory! Kaimana had faith. She vocalized that faith and support in a simple but hardy shout. "GO GLAIVE!"

Eyes ranged over the combatants. One was larger than the other by a rather large margin; both had a fairly reptilian appearance. But he admired Glaive's design--and surely she was a design, rather than some random spawn? Sleek, powerful, with interesting anatomy.
Though... was she fully grown? Vargas was unsure.
The other creature, though, looked built for defense. Squat, armored, heavy. He doubted that it would be able to do much, but there was something... polished, about its design, as though it had been made for a single purpose, though he couldn't quite tell what that purpose was.
Judging, gauging, observing, the ex-Overseer Oversaw, if only in an informal capacity.

Aran is Judging
Aran found himself judging some of the wrestling fights - he had no idea what that meant but sure, he could do that. He'd been given a run down on the rules and what he should be looking for, like everyone else had. Make sure there's no murder, no blood, things like that. Watch who wins. Some others were there, too. A feline, and some large... Purple thing that Aran didn't know how to name. Whatever it was, it was built like a damn attack hound.
"I don't wanna see any blood out there." He grunted to the two contestants - Aran didn't feel like dealing with it.

Elias wasn't good outside of the water, though the other gembound looked like it could fare a good bit within water, too. He wondered how fast it could swim - if it could swim at all. One of the judges was there, two spectators. All of them he didn't know, along with the other gembound he was wrestling, didn't know her either.
The rather... Large lizardlike creature started speaking to Elias about looking like her too - and fish.
Upon the mention of not seeing any blood, the gator took that as their match being ready to start. He... Had no idea how to start this to say the least. The other creature was so much larger than he was - but he could easily trip them up if he tried hard enough. Situating his body so he himself wouldn't trip, Elias moved forward to try.

It was a nice distraction from other things at least.
Toxic eyes narrowed at Elias's arrival, though. Dumb alligator, lying about - at least the other creature had a brightly-colored head and distinction from being like a rock. She was interesting indeed. The two of them were fairly similar, but it was like the larger lizard had put more effort into growing hind legs than front ones.
Easily trippable.

It seemed like the only proper thing to do now that her turn was up was to spectate the others. This particularly grouping had caught her attention if only because they were roughly sized large enough to be considered competition, and she kind of liked the idea of watching them to see if they'd be worth battling too (whether in the wrestling tournament itself, or afterward, for funsies.)
A lot had changed since her slumber, it seemed. There were a lot more critters with spikes, for one. These two fighting here, though? They seemed like regular old gembound to her. The one with the flashy red coloring was easy on the eyes-- the kind of fighter that looked built for sport with war paint built in. She liked that.
She had never thought about such things before, but she wondered-- how would she look with flashes of red or orange painted on her body in spots like that? Wouldn't that be something. (Man, if she ever met Dread--)
Regardless, the trinoceros watched from the sidelines, getting a feel for how the two low-center of gravity swamp beasts tussled. It wouldn't be so easy to toss them about, and caves help her if she ever met either one in a wetlands.
But hey, it'd be fun to try.

Wow-wee, there were... a lot of Gembound here. Last time that was the case, sentient hamburger got ground up - ah, wait,
Now... was the time to get body-slammed in the leg. Oh, but she had to wave at Kaimana as she went down. As gravity took hold, Glaive yowled a loud
So... a kick while she was on her side? Glaive drew a leg up, and did just that, swinging and thrusting it out for Elias's face. Even if she whiffed she immediately tried to get back up and cried

Elias was able to get a good blow to the large creature's leg as she was paying attention to other things - most likely the many that gathered to watch their 'fight'. What they were doing couldn't really be considered a fight, though he couldn't say he wasn't having some kind of fun. The adrenaline that came with the rush of fighting - 'fighting' was rushing through his blood even if it didn't make the gator any faster than it already was.
Being slow on land was annoying, though if they moved to the water perhaps one of them would have an unfair advantage, though the other also looked to be quick in the waters. With those sharp teeth.
And then a kick landed on his mouth - which reminded him of that one time when the stupid giant thing clawed at him there, too. And of course as he was kicked he was thrown slightly to the side and one of his eyes caught sight of that same green thing from before. Oh. He didn't like that. Eyes going squinty, he glanced at it for a moment before focusing on the problem at hand.
Now that the large thing was tripped,,, maybe he could get her to fall to her side and win. Or not.

Tossing her head to the side and shuffling to face Elias, she met his attempted bump with her own from the ground: a Spinosaurus kiss from her to him. As in, Glaive full-on just went to headbutt him. Thunk!
