Wreaking Havoc - Comet - Aug 09 2020 Comet
Comet walked with familiar paws to the clearing. It was almost like she was the proprietor of the place. This was where she always started a hunting, or training session. There was something about the clearing that made her feel like it was a good starting point. She inhaled, then exhaled. The scents were cleared from her nose, deep breath in, and out. Comet was about to start getting scents right then and there, but she was a bit thirsty, so she decided to practice a spell. She was hit right away with the location of the stream, so she followed her senses. RE: Wreaking Havoc - Comet - Aug 09 2020 Comet
Her senses led her to a thin trickle of water that flowed between a few rocks. It was almost nothing, but she lapped it up. It made her throat less sore. Comet dipped her nose into the water too, she found that when her nose was wet, it enhanced her scent. She had to rely mostly on her nose as her ears were not of much use at times. Especially when the sound was coming from her right. She raised her nose into the air and breathed in the scents, hopefully smelling some prey. Comet caught a faint whiff of the trail of a rabbit. RE: Wreaking Havoc - Comet - Aug 09 2020 Comet
Comet was on the trail, she burst through ferns and undergrowth, determined to catch the rabbit. She never looked back at the havoc she was causing, but if she did, she would see a trail of absolute destruction. Well, she was a wolf after all. The trail ended at the rabbit's burrow. Comet decided that she would either have to dig the rabbit out. She set her paws to work on the hole. Let's just say, it did not turn out as expected. When first digging the hole, the ground was incredibly hard, and rocky. When Comet finally broke through the first layer, she poked in her nose in the burrow to see if the rabbit was still there, and what she got was a hard chomp on her nose. What a pesky rabbit! And so, with renewed vigor, Comet set to work on digging the stupid rabbit out of its own burrow. A few seconds later, she felt the earth start to crumble away easier, but before she knew it, the earth below her fell away and Comet fell into a mud pit. Great, now not only has the rabbit scampered away, she was covered in a thick layer of mud. She clambered out and sighed. How unlucky she was that the one place she happened to dig had a mud pit under it. RE: Wreaking Havoc - Comet - Aug 09 2020 Comet
Comet sighed. She should probably find a good source of water to wash off all the mud. The stream she had already found would not do, it had to be rather large. She immediately thought of going to the two big pools of water but she could not remember which direction they were in. They might also be too far away. Comet decided that the best course of action would be to sense for any other bodies of water. She soon detected one and walked over. It was not too big, but not too small either. RE: Wreaking Havoc - Comet - Aug 09 2020 Comet
Comet placed a paw into the small puddle of water. For a full grown wolf, it would not have been sufficient, but for a wolf pup, it was plenty. The water was only slightly cool, and Comet felt sure that her thick fur would protect her from shivering. She jumped in and rolled around in the puddle. The water was very refreshing and when she finished and stepped out, it was a murky shade of brown. She shook her fur and dipped her nose in the water to refresh her smell again. Hopefully this time the trail would lead her to any place other than a mud pit. RE: Wreaking Havoc - Comet - Aug 09 2020 Comet
Comet's keen nose could not pick up any scent. It was probably because she had scared off most of the prey with with rampage. She sighed, maybe she would be more successful with using her ears to pick up sounds of other creatures. Although her right ear was quite useless, Comet turned around a full circle so her left ear could pick up sounds from all directions. But even with that, she was not able to pick up any sounds of prey. RE: Wreaking Havoc - Comet - Aug 18 2020 Comet
Comet decided that if she kept on trying, she wasn't going to have any better luck with finding prey. So that meant she could just practice magic instead. From earlier, she had already found she was quite good at finding water, so she would try casting a different spell this time. She was a bit thirsty, so, maybe get some water from the humid air? It worked quite well, and soon, Comet didn't feel thirsty anymore. She was up and ready to go! RE: Wreaking Havoc - Comet - Aug 18 2020 Comet
Now that Comet felt quite refreshed, she wanted to try a spell that required some more water. Her bath earlier in the puddle of water had not completely ridded her fur of the mud, so she needed a more thorough clean. A source of water that instead of coming from outside, came from inside. Comet felt her pores widen and the water pour out of her skin. It felt good, and there was a pool of murky water around her feet. Now she felt completely clean. Great! Now she was clean, but thirsty. Again. It was a shame that now that she had cleaned herself she had undone the results of the previous one which allowed her to refresh herself. She summoned up her remaining energy to try and cast the spell. The remaining water from the air around her got absorbed into her body, and she felt good again. Comet decided that she had probably already done enough hunting and spell casting today, so she would go home now. Her paws set out for Orion. "Exit to Orion" |
