We're Still Here - Maw - Aug 19 2020 ((I'm just gonna say that for this thread, posting order will probably matter very little. Just try not to post 2 times in a row.)) Don't get me wrong, Madhukar wanted to go somewhere warmer and nicer as soon as possible. I say 'warmer and nicer' as if I don't specifically mean Eridanus. Anyways, Madhukar wanted to storm outta this place in an instant, but... she just felt so much weaker now. She hadn't had her control over her storms for that long. Maybe she'd rushed into this Transcendence thing to soon-- but... well, it was a promise for something even better in the long term, wasn't it? She couldn't just settle for 'I'm okay at controlling my magic'. With her brand specifically, she had to be the best at it. Was she any better now? Better than it felt like she was? Something had been taken, indeed, she could feel that, but something else had been given, and not all had been lost. Madhukar stared up at that glistening blue rock, heard its thrum, its buzz. She wanted to hear the buzzing bugs again. And strangely enough, for some reason, she also wanted to hear the pitter patter of her own rain. Could she still do that, or had that been taken? It would be wise to figure out exactly what was missing. Was her ability to control that new spell gone too? A pity that would be, to have learned it and used it like a pro, only for a few minutes. She'd get it all back, that was a part of her promise to herself. She'd get it all back, and then some. First, to figure out what was missing. She'd start small, shifting her gaze to her left paw. Immobile, and yet it was the source of all of this dramatic energy constantly raging within her. She wanted to cause a spark, to guide it up to her left shoulder. Would it obey? Zip, zap, zop! It appeared that it would. @Auré @Aran ((Anyone can join this thread and practice some magic!! That's why it's AW)) RE: We're Still Here - Comet - Aug 19 2020 Comet
Ever since the recent discovery of snow in Polaris, Comet decided that she should stick around for a bit more and look around. The magic in this cave was much greater than in any of the other ones she had been in, so she decided it would be a good place to practice her magic in. She had been wandering around for a while when she came upon an electric cat. Or was it kitten? Either way the cat looked young, and was practicing some magic. Comet didn't say anything as she took a position a little away from her to start practicing. In case the cat was hostile she would need to make a quick escape route. The little bubbles drifted around her and she smiled at her success. RE: We're Still Here - Aran - Aug 19 2020 Aran had been following a particularly injured red rat, don't get him wrong, he wasn't the hero that James made him out to be. But his curiosity peaked when hed noticed the thing limping, even moreso When it started scuttling around despite that very obvious limp. His first thought was to end it's life, why would something wish to live if it was going to be picked off in the first place? Somehow he'd followed it into Polaris, the rat slowing down after that. Was it going to die? Surely if it didn't die there it would be picked off later. With a frown, Aran decided it would be best. RE: We're Still Here - Comet - Aug 19 2020 Comet
Comet's attention was drawn away from the bubbles when she noticed a deer following a limping rat. She was going to go over and help out the rat when the deer KILLED it. Okay, so usually the wolf would kill prey for herself to eat, but why would you go over and kill a rat for no reason? She was sure that deer did not eat rats in the first place so it was one, a waste of food, and two, mean that he killed the rat when it was limping and couldn't escape. Comet stomped over to the deer, and by then, she noticed that the rat was not dead. Instead, it starts squeaking in pain, and lurching around on the floor. Now this was WORSE than killing it. Torturing a poor animal, a helpless lesser, was a great crime. @Aran RE: We're Still Here - Aran - Aug 19 2020 The rat fell and Aran thought it died - death would be better than living with something like that right? He thought back to when those batcat jrs were chewing on his flesh - Aran wanted to die there. If it meant not feeling the fangs of that swarm. But he was alive, and could feel the comping of their teeth as he thought about it. Before a shiver could travel through his body, the rat let out a squeal and some tiny canine was yelling about it. It living was not according to plan. He would have moved to finish it off, but the small thing yelling at him would surely cause a headache. "It was supposed to die." he replied. Aran wasn't the most talkative of guys, but he would have been thankful for the release back then. @Comet RE: We're Still Here - Maw - Aug 19 2020 It appeared as though this place was getting popular. The snow was pretty interesting, Madhukar had to admit. Was that why the two creatures over there had come? One, she recognized from investigating the snow. The other she didn't know from anywhere. They seemed to be chatting about something, something Madhukar was sure they could keep to themselves. Maybe if she ignored them, they would ignore her. Madhukar looked up at the ceiling. Next on her list of spells to try was either one that was, unfortunately, pretty attention-catching, or one that could be inconspicuous but not entirely innocuous. Madhukar recalled the first few times she'd used the latter. A shudder ran through her. Ewgh. She figured she ought to try something with less risk of electrocution. She could pretend as though it wasn't her doing if she had to. If it even worked. Focus, aim, and... BOOOOOOOOOOM! HOLY CRAP THAT WAS LOUD-- Madhukar hadn't intended that! Her eyes widened as the thunderclap seemed to fill the entire room. Maybe it was audible outside of this room. Quickly, before she could risk a chance at being noticed by the other creatures around, Madhukar dove behind a blue rock sticking out of the ground. It was a poor attempt at being hidden. 'Well, THAT works,' she supposed. RE: We're Still Here - Comet - Aug 19 2020 Comet
Comet listened to the deer's excuse. It wasn't a very big one. Comet thought about continuing talking to the deer about why you shouldn't torture lessers when she decided that it was a waste of her time. She walked away from him and back to the cat where she could continue practicing her magic. Perhaps a stronger spell, to show the deer that she shouldn't be messed with. The only problem was she had never tried using it before. The water poured out of everywhere, covering her legs in a foot of water. @Madhukar @Aran RE: We're Still Here - Aran - Aug 19 2020 Aran did not care that the child moved forward to finish off that being - the one that surely wished for death to come to it. He wondered if that creature would have done the same at him, if it had been there when the swarm took his body. He had the scars to show it, what felt like millions but what had to be hundreds of tiny scars lining his body. Most of which would be blocked out by brown fur, but surely a number of them would be visible. Aran hardly looked at himself to find out. And then there was a loud sound, aran'd magic acting on what he would like to call it's own accord. At the source of it. @Madhukar RE: We're Still Here - Maw - Aug 19 2020 ![]() Suddenly, Madhukar felt very queasy. Oh, that was not normal, not at all. What had she done? Eaten a plant?! Or was that... no, that didn't make any sense, her spell had worked. And even then, normally when it backfired, it didn't make her feel... oh, oh gosh, EUGH-- Maybe this was a stupid time to try out this spell, but hey, if something was coming up her throat anyways she might as well try to charge it. She'd try to turn away from any onlookers when the charged projectile bile came rising up and out. Hey, at least she knew that one worked too! And getting that out of her system did manage to make her feel... a little better. It was super weird, but it had ended in some form of victory, so... hurray? @Comet @Aran RE: We're Still Here - Comet - Aug 20 2020 Comet
Comet was not quite sure what happened, but it looked like the loud noise had scared the deer enough that he decided to sicken the cat. She looked away when the cat turned around to barf. She started to feel queasy even though she wasn't the one who had gotten sick. Comet decided to turn her attention away from the whole scene and refresh herself. The water absorbed into her body refreshed her mind and she didn't feel queasy anymore. @Aran @Madhukar |
