Potentially Deadly Meeting... But that's okay - Comet - Aug 30 2020

Comet
Arctic Wolf
Comet had finished frolicking in the snow and was resting. The snow just never seemed to get old, and there were just so many possibilities for what to do there. She had found a rather nice solid block of ice, and was licking it. The cold numbed her tongue, but licking the ice block otherwise felt good. It was comparable to chomping on a bone, although bones had more flavor and tasted better.

Rami didn't like the snow. Her paws were wet and cold and wet and cold just didn't feel good. Something also was telling her to keep her face far, far away from it for whatever reason. And rami wasn't about to ignore whatever it was.

She found herself stuck on a block of ice. She could get down, getting down wasn't the issue. The snow was the issue. The tiny kitten didn't want to get wet. With a frown on their face, rami wondered how they were supposed to leave. The place made out of bones was much nicer to be in than whatever this was.

Comet was still busy licking away at her ice when she spotted the the tiny cat, or kitten? Standing on a block of ice. That was not strange in the slightest, but what was strange was that they looked like they were frustrated and trying to get off the ice block.

Well that was funny, why didn't they just jump down? Comet unstuck her tongue from the ice and trotted over to the small cat. "Hello! What are you doing on that ice?"

If comet knew what a normal sized kitten looked like, she would see that rami was... smaller than that. Rami herself didn't have anything to compare herself to, so she thought she was normal. Though her small legs actually didn't matter much, she could move just fine. The kitten blinked when some wolf showed up. Rami's first reaction was to arch her back with not much of a difference. But then the wolf asked what she was doing on the ice.

"trying to not get wet. It's horrible here!" the kitten complained.

Comet giggled at the small cat's answer. "Really? I think the snow is super fun! It's even good to eat!" she wondered if she could do anything to help them. It was really hard to not get wet when you were on a block of ice surrounded by snow. She snow was shallow enough that she didn't sink it all the way, but the cat was certainly small enough for that to happen.

"Maybe I can help? You could jump on my back." Comet realized that her back was wet from rolling around in the snow, so she shook her fur, not realizing that the water went in all directions.

Rami hated it. Hated the snow. Hated this place. If any of that stuff touched them they were going to run into the next dimension. There was no way they were going to let that stuff touch their face. Or their body. Their paws were already wet and they were shivering from how cold her paw pads were.

And then the wolf shook out her fur.

"STOP THAT!" She screamed, turning around and covering her face with her paws.

"Sorry!" she had't accounted for the fact that the water from her fur would have to go somewhere. This was not turning out very well. "Well, um, my fur is dry now. Would you like to hop on?" Comet offered.

Maybe a few bubbles would calm them down. Bubbles helped her to relax. She may have poured too much energy into the spell, because soon the air was filled with bubbles of all sizes.

Rami had decided that she didn't like this canine. Or this cave. Definitely not this cave. Rami turned around to look at the thing after the water was shaken out of her fur and instead all over rami. This was awful. Her body was all wet now.

"You'll drop me!" She hissed in response about riding on the wolf's back. No way! They were too short to carry her through that mess. Her tail was flicking back and forth irritably at that point.

And then the bubbles came.

Rami might have been amazed by them if one hadn't gotten close to her. Moving to poke it with a short paw, the bubble exploded in her face and some of the liquid got there. Which meant it touched her stone.

All of a sudden there was pain.

Rami had never felt pain before. Certainly not pain like this. Her face was burning, felt like she was going to die.

Yelling out a screech, rami went back into that curled up position she was in before.

"STOP IT STOP IT MAKE IT STOP!"

So the water kind of hurt. Rami was never going to touch water ever again.

She agreed with the statement that she would drop them. But the fact that they had little confidence in her was a little hurtful, even if it was true. The tail flicking back and forth was body language for 'play!' but she had learned that cats did not think that way.

Oh no! Comet hadn't expected the bubbles to do that! Instead of calming them down, the bubbles hurt them! "Sorry!" It seemed that any kind of water when it touched their stone seemed to really hurt. She tried thinking of a way to get rid of all the bubbles. Something that was not easy to do.

Oh yeah! Maybe she could try absorbing moisture from the air, which would pop all the bubbles. Comet expended some of her energy, and felt the moisture soak into her skin. Pop! One popped, then two, then four! Soon all she heard were the sounds of popping bubbles.

Rami could hear the apology ringing through her ears despite them being flat against her head. Rami didn't want an apology! She wanted the water to go the fuck away! Rami didn't like water. Didn't want to touch the water. It was awful.

She could hear the bubbles popping around, except none of the water touched her. That was better. Rami was still pissed.

Sending a claw flying, she wanted to smack that thing right on the nose.

"Don't do that again!"
