A Song Of Raindrops And Crystals - Comet - Sep 30 2020
Comet was back in Ursa, but this time with a different intention. Instead of randomly wandering around and poking things, she is here this time to find some cool lessers. Because this place was so different from the other warmer caves, she was sure that the lesser here would be different too. What if they looked like her? She was made for the cold! She guessed that the lessers would probably have thick fur too, to survive in this cold.
And so, she started looking for a path up the mountain. @Nemo RE: A Song Of Raindrops And Crystals - Nemo - Sep 30 2020 Nemo was scanning the new caves for new things to use as dye - and for some food. What? He's always hungry, okay? His diet isn't exactly filling on the best of days. Though you could definitely call it a heavy meal... But, anyway, back to the task at wing, he's looking for dyes and food, food and dyes... hmm. Is there to make food colored, without making it taste nasty? I wonder... huh. What's that? Huh, there must be big Lessers here- wait- "Comet? Comet, up here!" he calls, happy to see a friend of his wandering around where he'd gone- maybe they can hang out together! The large bird circles overhead, cold air and the sharp breeze making it a bit hard to glide but that's what flapping is for anyway, and the small eddies off his wings stir up some of the stray snow nearby. @Comet RE: A Song Of Raindrops And Crystals - Comet - Sep 30 2020
Comet had been trudging along through the snow when she heard a familiar voice calling her. She immediately whipped her head around, look for who it was. Up... she looked straight up, to see--
@Nemo RE: A Song Of Raindrops And Crystals - Nemo - Oct 01 2020 "Ahah, it's good to see a familiar face in this weird place! I'm doing well, can't you tell?" he crows, coming in for a flourishing landing, only skidding a small bit but still firmly in front of Comet, and he's able to fold his wings into his sides quickly and without any pain. Seems like he's getting better at this landing thing. The lammergeier shifts his feet, shaking one than the other to try and keep the snow out of his feathers in his legs, but happily, he's... kind of used to the cold, now. Yay layers! "I'm looking for food, and dyes! My feather's aren't always this color," he jokes, gesturing at himself and bouncing his glowing bauble up into his face on accident. "How about you? What's your goal in here? Think there's anything new in here other than snow?" @Comet RE: A Song Of Raindrops And Crystals - Comet - Oct 02 2020
Comet watches as the bird comes lower and lower, finally making a landing on the snow without too much trouble. So remembered the first time that they had met, it had been in another snowy place in Polaris.
@Nemo RE: A Song Of Raindrops And Crystals - Nemo - Oct 02 2020 "Thanks, grooming the back of my neck was hard to get!" he preens, running a flight feather through his beak seductively, and jokingly, he's doing the bird equivalent of the sexy wiggle eyebrows, and his blue feathers ruffle and he caws out a laugh, sounding a bit rough. He doesn't even mind the giggling at his little mishap, it's funny! At the mention of food, though, he lights up more, and he straightens up with an excited, "Of course! That's some of why I'm here too!" As if for punctuations sake, his stomach makes a low growling noise, resulting in him bowing lower again with a sheepish laugh. @Comet RE: A Song Of Raindrops And Crystals - Comet - Oct 02 2020 @Nemo RE: A Song Of Raindrops And Crystals - Nemo - Oct 03 2020 "Roger!" he takes to wing, buffeting snow around as he climbs to a decent coasting height, the cold wind offering enough of a buoyant stream to settle on as he settles, and has a split second thought of the last winds he'd tried to ride - nope don't go there- before he re-registers Comet asking him to search, and does so-sadly, very unsuccessful as the winds stir up snow that obscures his vision, and he calls out a short, "Nothing, right now! Let's move that way!" Before banking to the left gently, and checking to see if Comet can see him. @Comet RE: A Song Of Raindrops And Crystals - Comet - Oct 03 2020
Comet regrets asking the bird to fly up into the harsh winds, because it looked really bad up there, and she was afraid of him getting hurt. It reminded her of when he told her the story of when he hatched, and was swept around in Monceros's twister. But he was a capable bird, so she didn't worry too much.
@Nemo RE: A Song Of Raindrops And Crystals - Nemo - Oct 03 2020 He's much stronger than he was at that age, and these winds are nothing to him now, they actually make it easier to stay in the air to a degree, but he still attempts to find a flatter current to ride, stabilizing by instinct before checking back on Comet once more before once more caching Comet's next question. Something is there, he thinks, following the line of her muzzle to track whatever she was tracking, looks almost like a Windhopper! I know how to get these- With that thought, and no verbal reply to Comet in case he'd scare the rabbit, he drops, pulling his wings back and swooping with talons outstretched, hoping to snatch the thing and swing back high up to drop it on a nearby exposed crag. But, of course- he misses. Doesn't even wind up clipping the hoppity thing, just sends up a plume of snow before he moves out of the mess, looking angry and disappointed on the upswoop. "Missed, sorry!" @Comet |
