chubby wubby wibble wobble grubby baby bee - Arwen - Oct 01 2020 So here she was, freshly hatched, her teeny tiny chrysalis having been hidden within the roots of one of the trees of Eridanus. She slowly crawled forward, her baby arms on the floor to assist her fat lower half to move around. She was barely a foot long and white all over with minimal coloring, only tiny spots of yellow on her body and shoulders. The chitin mask on her face hid the bug-like features underneath, and was as pale as snow with half-lidded eyes, a smile, and red lips. Two dots appeared on the brows, giving the mask a mischievous look. At the moment, she had no name, for words hadn't yet formed at all, really. A name was a far off possibility, if one at all. A drop of rain fell and hit her on the head, making her flinch and back up, arms tucking into her chest as she looked around, her toddler-like torso looking very similar to a humanoid baby, with soft 'skin' and fat covering what muscle she had. Rain started to fall and she huddled further in on herself, looking around, before moving forward, off to find something to hide under. She quickly grew cold, shivering as she huddled under a leaf, her body curled up as she rested on herself, arms propped up on her soft 'tail'. "H-hello?", he called out, mandibles wobbling under her mask. She was so cold... @Redwood RE: chubby wubby wibble wobble grubby baby bee - Redwood - Oct 01 2020 Redwood had not existed for very long. but they knew they must get as far away as possible from any water in sight, finding it hard to breathe at the mere sight of it. their feathers were still damp and cold, not made to be drenched in water and it left them incredibly cold and weak, weighing heavy on their skin like a wet blanket. even in the comforting warmth of a place like eridanus the light breeze coming from any given direction did nothing to aid it, shivering as they wobbled through the plants. the nice wolf that had helped them seemed nice enough, but they were weary, the feeling of being trapped in someones jaws was unpleasant and... terrifying. as they moved through the shrubbery, slipping on the dirt despite their claws, scared and inexperienced with anything with nobody to aid them, they passed by a tree, looking up at the leaves and wincing once more. the light was still near blinding to them, and their eyes still stung from the water. truly, in that moment, they truly looked like what they were. a scared, and lost, child. they paused, for a moment, as their ears picked up the strangest sound. a voice? they looked around, up and down and- oh wait. they crouched down, lifting the tiny leaf and cooing similarly to a pigeon in confusion. a silent greeting. they tilted their head. @Queen-Bee RE: chubby wubby wibble wobble grubby baby bee - Arwen - Oct 01 2020 The grub looked up as the leaf lifted, holding her arms to her chest, fingers clenched as she backed up gently, the small nubs that acted as legs wiggling nervously. "... Hello?", she said, lifting a hand to gently wave it, slowly inching forward to look up at the blue creature, curious. She'd never seen anything like it. Such a shade of blue was so different from the greens and browns of the jungle, from the dirt and the soil and the bland colors all around. Redwood was... beautiful. She chittered gently, mandibles clicking under her chitin mask as she wibble-wobbled forward, making grabby hands at the larger creature, wanting to feel and touch and appreciate all they were. She cooed, mimicking the sound of the blue creature, admiring their wings and their feathers and everything about them! They were just... beautiful! @Redwood RE: chubby wubby wibble wobble grubby baby bee - Redwood - Oct 01 2020 the harpy seemed incredibly intrigued by the small grub. they reached their hands down in offering to her, curious eyes examining the grub with incredible interest. they were similar to the small grubs they had been scavenging weakly for since they escaped pisces, but different! the small mask was a point of curiosity, aswell was everything else about them! they were very interesting! the small harpy child gave out a wet chuckle at the mimic, cooing again. was this one friendly? it didnt LOOK like they could eat them! and that was good enough for now. they rumbled from their throat, leftover water still gurgling in their throat, "g-ggrub!" they squawked. @Queen_bee RE: chubby wubby wibble wobble grubby baby bee - Arwen - Oct 01 2020 She approached the hands and gently placed her own tiny ones in them, cooing gently as she looked up at Redwood. She crawled into his hands and looked up, tucking her arms in again as her teeny tiny antennae moved up and down curiously. "Friend?", she asked and cocked her head, wondering if she was 'grub'. The small grub shivered gently as the rain fell on them again, it having let up a bit, but not much, drenching everything and creating a mist on the round as the clouds above condensed and lowered to the jungle floor. It was an interesting look, and perfectly moist enough for her, but the coolness was something she didn't quite appreciate. Seeking warmth, she crawled along Redwood's arm and settled on their shoulder, snuggling against their soft feathers. "Blue,", she said softly, chittering gently. @Redwood RE: chubby wubby wibble wobble grubby baby bee - Redwood - Oct 02 2020 the harpy child seemed calm in the grub's unthreatening presence, chirping gently as they held her in their hands like a small flower, delicate and easy to crush. they gave a very soft smile, nodding at her words, "fff-friend!" they squawked. they made a distressed twitter as the rain continued to fall, something they barely noticed minutes prior. they used their wing as a makeshift umbrella, shielding them both from further assault. they tilted their head as the grub crawled into the feathers on their shoulder, curiosity evident in every part of their expression. they hatched, almost died, but now they had made a friend! things were looking.. better? yeah "blue?" they peeped. were they blue? looking to themselves, they realized that, yeah! alot of them was blue! they chuckled, more a heavy vibration than laughter though. it was still evident they were amused by this revelation. @Arwen RE: chubby wubby wibble wobble grubby baby bee - Arwen - Oct 02 2020 The grub clapped her tiny, chubby hands, her three fingers and two thumbs lacking nails, and pointed back to the massive leaf she'd been hiding under. They could use it as an umbrella! "Friend!", she said back, and mimicked Blue's coo again, laughing in delight. She perched on Blue's shoulder happily, using it as a sort of look out as they peered all around, hissing as a drop of rain splatted on their face. They shook their head and frowned, glaring up at the sky before snuggling into Blue's neck where it was warm and dry. Bleh, stupid rain. "Dry,", she said, pointing back to the leaf, more insistent this time. @Redwood RE: chubby wubby wibble wobble grubby baby bee - Redwood - Oct 02 2020 the harpy nodded, lying down onto the ground near the leaf so they could still observe their new friend, allowing her to get down should she wish. they continued to use their wing as a makeshift umbrella, shielding them from the rain. they looked around, and then back to the grub. "dddry?" they beeped. they didn't like being wet either, it was cold and gross. they tried to shuffle part of their nose under the leaf too, in a pathetic attempt to join her. @Arwen RE: chubby wubby wibble wobble grubby baby bee - Arwen - Oct 02 2020 The grub fell the few inches to the ground, rolling a bit before getting up and looking around. She slowly climbed the stem of the plant and stood on the very tip of a leaf more than big enough for Redwood to huddle under, using her miniscule weight to bring it down closer. "Here- hold!", she guided, wanting them to grab the leaf and hold it down so she could climb off and onto his shoulder where it was still dry. Once they did, she grabbed onto him and made her way down again, sighing in relief as the rain finally stopped falling onto them. "Prettyyyy...", she cooed, looking out at the rain as it fell. @Redwood RE: chubby wubby wibble wobble grubby baby bee - Redwood - Oct 02 2020 the harpy followed the grub's orders, holding the leaf for her so she could get down. they huddled under the leaf with her, watching the rain. they didnt like water, but rain was okay. it wasn't going to drown them or eat them. just fall. they cooed peacefully at the sight, nodding in agreement. "ggood water." they fluttered their wings a bit, puffing out the feathers as they dried. @Arwen |
