Sneaking Out - Annie - Oct 13 2020 Annie toddled along on her wobbly legs, one pair already up and running, the other not so much. Her thin bird legs weren't really meant to be up and running so soon, but she certainly wasn't going to heed their warning to slow down. Her wings were fluffy and white, with little grey feathers poking out, not fit to fly with yet. Soon, though. Soon. She giggled softly as she herded her brother along, bigger than him by a bit, but just as excited as the small little bouncy mouse-bird was. "Hop Hop!", she twittered, bouncing along forward with excitement, looking around at everything, fascinated by the smallest little thing, even the dirt beneath her feet. She flapped her wings and jumped over a rock, flapping hard to get herself up on top of it, "Oh oh- look!" A pond!! How amazing, fantastic, splendid!! It was truly amazing here in the jungle, the most perfect home for the two curious little munchkins, so small that even the smallest critters here were bigger than them. "Hop!", she called behind her, wings flapping like crazy as her tiny tail wiggled, "Hop look!! Look!" She wondered what fish were here to try to catch, perhaps it was a spawning pool, perfect for the children to splash around in and test their skills. @Hop RE: Sneaking Out - Hop - Oct 15 2020 ![]() EVERYTHING WAS SO EXCITING!!! There was so much to see and learn and try and do! Hop was barely a few days old, but Hop was already chomping at the bit to consume more about this world that they had burst into. The trees were so tall it looked like their tallest leaves scraped the ceiling! The leaves and flowers were so colourful that Hop could get lost in all their shimmery hues! And Hop was so tiny, even the ground-hugging ferns were so huge that they could walk through corridors of their leaves and make castles out of each sprawling patch of weeds! It felt like they could explore this room forever! (Nobody tell Hop that there were like twenty OTHER rooms to see yet!) At the moment, the fluffball was bouncing ahead of Annie, as usual zipping toward the first interesting thing and touching or pecking or licking or jumping on it. Bounce! Bounce! Their long legs propelled them forward, wings fluttering as they landed and twittered with delight to themself, searching for something else to entertain their mind a few seconds later, until their sister beckoned their attention. Immediately, Hop whirled around to see what it was-- Annie was on top of a big rock! Hop wanted to be up there too! ...Only to smack face-first into the rock and bounce right off, landing with a POFF on their back in the dirt. ![]() RE: Sneaking Out - Annie - Oct 15 2020 Annie jumped straight up at the sound of their sibling jumping into the rock, her teeny ears perking up as she turned to look, blinking for a moment before giggling. Words weren't really her forte at the moment, so instead of asking if Hop was okay, she scrabbled at the edge of the rock, trying to find the best place to get down before her claw slipped and she was forced to jump off. She landed on her belly with an awkward chirp, shaking her soft white feathers out as she waddled towards Hop, poking at him with her small beak. "Okay?", she asked, tugging at his tail in a childish attempt to get him to stand, ignorant to the fact that pulling on a tail could hurt if done too hard. "Hop-hop?", she asked again, perking up a bit at the nickname she'd created for her little brother. Annie let go of him and toddled over to the edge of the pond, her hippo instincts demanding that she dive in and show off her swimming skills. Cautiously, she put her feet in first, and then sat down, splashing her front feet in the water and giggling like mad. "Look!", she cried out again, turning her head to face Hop, working her jaw as she tried to form the perfect word to describe the pond. "... Warrrrrm!!", she finally trilled. |
