Appearance: Aethereal is heavily insulated and covered in tough skin and thick (but very soft) fur; it has hard plates on its neck and belly. Notably, it lacks a head, and instead has a strange, sliced opening to its neck. In this opening is its mouth and throat, lined with many little teeth able to process only small chunks of food. It can suck up these small chunks like a vacuum. Around this opening are organs it uses for hearing, so its hearing may become muffled while eating. The long hairs on its spine, chest, and legs are specialized sensory hairs that gauge temperature and air currents, useful when flying. It breathes using the gill-like vents on its sides. Its forearms are inward-facing and it can run and leap like a cat; its shoulders are incredibly strong, and it can pull or carry a lot of weight. It is not entirely clear where Aethereal's voice comes from—its voice sounds like whispers, but can turn into a monstrous roar. The ends of its wings are like layered sheets of skin stretched between supporting bone structure, which aids it in flying through treacherous weather. In all, Aethereal stands about 9 feet tall at the shoulder and is roughly 16 feet long chest-to-rump, excluding its tail, which is almost as long as its body.
