Meeting what looks like a mini Carja but not really - Comet - Dec 20 2020

Comet had found a nice flat rock in the middle of the meadow to sun bathe on. Even though there was no sun in the caves. Okay, she was light bathing. Laying on her side, she sighed as the light warmed up her snowy white fur. She looked like a lump of snow, but it was obvious once you looked at her that she wasn't, as she wasn't melting. Bubbles drifted off of her fur, and she gave a sneeze as one of them drifted onto her nose.

Aerie was silent as she stood at the edge of the clearing, squinting at the wolf. Her spell failed but she hopped forward, drifting downwards before landing gently beside the wolf. She lifted a clawed hand and poked her nose.

”Excuse me, but I think you're leaking,” she said, and pointed to the bubbles.

She coiled up and balanced on her thick tail, heavily muscles but littered with air pockets, leaving her incredibly lightweight. She rested her hind legs on her tail and hunched over, peering down at Comet as her hands rested on her knees, head cocked slightly.

The bubble on her nose having woken her up, Comet opened her eyes to see the blue dragon hopping towards her. Her thoughts immediately drifted to Carja, although of course this dragon was definitely not her. A claw booped her on the nose, and she sneezed again. The wolf was very confused. She had never been randomly booped before.

She pushed herself into a sitting position as she listened to the dragon's comment. Oh! This was a funny dragon. "I guess in a way, I am." Comet had never thought about it as leaking before, but if you really thought about it, she was leaking! Water in the form of bubbles was coming out of her skin. "It doesn't hurt or anything though! It just... happens. They're fun to pop!" She jumped up and snapped her jaws at a bubble.

Comet liked this dragon, they had a sense of humor, and they were nice too! No one else had asked her if she were leaking before. "So what brings you here?"

Aerie wasn't joking. So she just frowned and cocked her head, a brow raising.

”Well... that's good,” she said.

She floated up into the air and coiled up a bit, hands clasped together. She was like a breeze, gently flowing in the air, her whiskers floating behind her as she stood there, her mane falling over one side of her neck.

”So... what are you doing?”, she asked, clearly unused to talking to people, normally her mother did this.

Where was Sharp when she needed her? She had social anxiety! And resting sourface, not a good combination!

Aerie's response wasn't what Comet expected, and she wondered if the dragon was really joking or not. She watched the dragon levitate above the ground, looking light and graceful. "Lightbathing. It helps warm my fur. Works especially well on rocks! Do you want to try?" she scooted over on the stone, leaving space for the dragon to lay down too if Aerie wanted. Hopefully that would get a smile on her face.

Aerie cocked her head and peered at the rock, ”I do that to keep warm. I'm a reptile.”

Well, sort of. She had hair and fur but scales as well. She was just a confusing mess of lizard and mammal.

”... Sorry,” she said, realizing she was just being a stick in the mud at this point.

Aerie floated over and hovered just above it before laying herself down and just... sitting there. Awkwardly. She wasn't good at this at all, was she?

How had she not noticed that before? Comet facepalmed herself in her head at saying such a thing. "It's alright," she watched Aerie float over and sit down on the rock next to her. Awkwardly. Well, that was alright. Comet knew not everyone was the best with talking to others.

"So, what do you usually like to do in your free time?" she asked, trying to start a conversation.

Free time? What a concept. Her 'work' was everything she enjoyed, so her free time was mostly just taking care of herself. Hunting, eating, sleeping, bathing.

”Not much,” she said, and turned her head away, ”... But my mother is including me in her trading business. You see we gather up things like gems, furs, things people might not be able to acquire themselves and trade them for things that interest us. Honey, maybe, or sugar.”

She turned back to Comet and blinked slowly, ”What about you?”
