Enlightenment. [solo] - Sunny - Dec 26 2020 Somewhere in Canis, tucked away in the wall where she had been for the past couple of cycles, the Voidmother lie dormant. She had not been expecting to be away for so long. She had been hoping that she would be rescued; however, it seemed that this just wasn't meant to be. Regardless of the attempts of others, she was dying. Her heart, still visible through her shell in case someone happened to be looking, was beginning to grow slower still -- her blood had grown sluggish from lack of moisture, her stomach beginning to wither. Her kidney (just the one; she was a snail, after all) was desperate for some moisture and was shutting down from lack of it. She was dying, and elsewhere, her familiar could feel it. The Voidstrider began to panic. But if the Voidmother had been conscious, she would have been calm -- just as calm as she had been the day she'd hatched in Fornax, staring up at the shining bulbs so far above. Sunny was aware of many things that some Gembound weren't; one of them was the fact that death was rarely the end. When her heart did not pulse again, her shell began to grow -- it pierced through the membrane that had formed into the ground, and with a surge of magic it was growing out in spikes to protect her. It expanded more than it really needed to, straining at the edges of the containment, and pressing perilously at the bone adjacent. She would be born again soon. Two short weeks, and then she'd emerge -- breathless and full of power, threatening to overtake the world. Just as she had been the day she first was born. Somewhere in Cetus, a pitch-black chrysalis of serendibite spiraled up from somewhere inside to encase the Voidstrider. /exit sunny (& kooru, elsewhere) to chrysalis RE: Enlightenment. [solo] - Sunny - Jan 10 2021 The stone split open abruptly, dragging the Voidmother unceremoniously out of her stone-dreams. Elsewhere in the world, something similar was happening to the Blooru, and both of them were suddenly drawing in a violent breath at the same time (although... moreso for the familiar, because Sunny didn't have lungs that worked in quite the same way). She was already moving -- desperate to crawl towards the light, a stark contrast to the darkness she'd ventured towards in the past. In fact, she felt much different than she had in the past -- her constant whispers and nausea of chaos and violence were gone now, and she didn't feel as though she was barely keeping something desperate under control. How... strange. As the snail reeled, her familiar was already running. The usually-reserved creature was desperate to see her again, although due to sheer distance it would probably be several minutes before she got there. In the meantime, Sunny felt a deep and desperate longing for her family -- she'd been gone for far too long already. /exit sunny forreal this time, like in a little bit (not claiming magicka or anything bc i can't remember if i did earlier or not) |
