Static Discharge - Stygian - Jan 09 2021
So... this is a cave that exists. Stygian's kinda unimpressed with this one. Maybe the gleaming crystals and moss would be impressive to another Gembound. Maybe one with better vision would be able to appreciate the colors of the room, the gemstone surface of those gleaming crystals—but all Stygian sees is that the cave is annoyingly bright, to the point where he's forced to squint past the glare. Exploration comes second nature—youthful curiosity means he's spent more time mapping out the caves around him than not—but this one? It's kind of a bust. He almost regrets coming in here at all, its only upside being that whatever it is in here kind of seems to seep the exhaustion out of his wings from flying all this time. He calls out a high-pitched chirp, listening to the shape of the echo that follows. What returns to him is still kind of unimpressive. He hears the rock around him, the shape of a nearby crystal that he turns his head away from, annoyed by its brightness... oh, hey, there's a dip in the rock over there, in the direction of the sound of rushing water. A river. At least this place has that; flying low through tunnels and caves has made him thirsty, and he considers this place as at least a decent rest stop on his way to another, more interesting cave. Starting forward, he walks on his wings towards the river he's sighted, seeking something to drink. RE: Static Discharge - Game Master Dark - Jan 09 2021 There wasn't much life to be seen around--likely a few insects or spiders somewhere more distant, maybe a snake; a few fish fought the river's current.
Atop a nearby rock lounged a Slime Belly: a small lizard, slimy and jet black with bright orange-yellow spots splashing its little body. Bright eyes regarded the approaching bat with curiosity, but the creature did not move from its flat perch. A sticky tongue dipped out, licking one eye, and then it fell still again, brightly unafraid. @Stygian |
