Chaos-Two was absolutely delighted. Both by not offending Diot and the fact that they'd just acquired a friend! Their first ever friend!

"Thank you," they bleated happily, their tail shaking back and forth as they took the mushroom, munching on it happily. Perhaps they were too trusting, but they were excited! They had a friend!!

"I'm excited," they admitted softly, shifting a little so that Diot could perch comfortably, "I really only have my sibling as a friend. They're very kind, too."

Chaos-Two bit their lip as they started to walk, quickly eating the mushroom and stopping after a few steps, ears pinning.

"... My master is stern and might not like it if he knew I became friends with someone not of the Forge," they said softly, "So until I am certain he would not mind, could you perhaps remain... quiet about it? I don't want to be in trouble. I already am."

They smiled wryly and continued, heading through Eridanus and back to Canis.

Diot more than pleased when V-Chaos-Two took a mushroom to eat. Traveling on an empty stomach did not a happy journey make! And from the looks of it they enjoyed the fungus too! Sulphur shelfs were some of Diot's favorite to grow and partake in for a quick and hearty snack. A delectably meaty and hearty mushroom that was brilliant- and most gembounds seemed to enjoy them too without much fuss too! Diot softly smiled, humming softly as V-Chaos-Two adjusted. Though when they spoke up again and informed him about their master...about how they must remain quiet about being friends-he didn't frown; but he didn't exactly smile either.

Diot could only hum softly, gently patting V-Chaos-Two for a few moments. Offering reassurance in any way he could, trying to find the words to speak.

"I am glad you and your sibling are friends, it is better than not."

He paused for a moment.

"Do not worry, I will remain quiet. I do not wish for you to get into trouble, especially if I can help you avoid it."

He smiled, a bit wider, patting V-Chaos-Two a few more times in good confidence.

"I'm sure all will go perfectly fine, you're doing a wonderful job!"

Diot was being superfluously nice by Chaos-Two's standards, but they didn't say anything of it. They were content to just let the primate be kind of his own accord.

"Thank you," they said gratefully, thankful for the comfort and the gentle touches, "You're too kind."

That was a lie, though. There wasn't enough kindness, Chaos-Two thought. Master Vargas could certainly use some.

"We'd best be off proper," they said, stepping onto a deer trail and heading towards the tunnels that lead to Canis, "I would love to stay longer, for Eridanus is especially beautiful, but I have a job to do and despite having plenty of time to do it, dilly-dallying won't do any good. Master Vargas will be pleased upon hearing me back so soon."

And with that they headed off, excited to get going. Master Vargas was sure to be happy with them.

Diot understood the young gembound was in somewhat of a hurry, they had a job to do and it was important that they'd do it in such a manner. He agreed though, starting sooner rather than later was usually the best path; especially when a journey stood between each step of the task. He smiled, nodding along to their words.

"Lead the way. And perhaps you can accompany me again in Eridanus in the future, and I may show you the beauty of the Maw of Mosses."

He hummed, and while he was sure that event may not be anytime soon it was an offer Diot was happy to extend. He was sure the young soul would enjoy the many sights of Eridanus and all the lesser that called it home. Especially the bountiful fruits, vegetables, fungi, and the like that Diot himself grew and cultivated very much in the 'just let it grow' form. But as noted that would be for some other time, for now, he was focused on the task ahead and those he was soon to meet. A gembound in Canis- and then after a Master? By the name of Vargas.
