Home wasn't home, any more. Eridanus had been reduced to a haunting, reeking ghost. The putrid scent of Order's fungus still clung to Reverend's nostrils even now, as he flees to Orion.

Even if he did not exactly know the dangers of the infestation, the uncanniness of it all was more than enough to set him off.

He'd been in Orion before, where he received the hat perched upon his head. It seems safe enough, to hide away in for a better time.

Reverend bent down, picking up a small stone. Willing it to light his way, at least a little, he stalked amongst the ruins, looking for somewhere to make a temporary den.

It stares at the little glowing stone in its hands. Maybe it should make it a charm, something to light his way, even if it was small...

The glowing ceiling with all its starry twinkle reminds Reverend of their own feathers. Though the haunting ruins of ghosts long past don't particularly fit with his image of home... Then again, neither did Eridanus anymore, green replaced with snow white webs.

This'll have to do for now.

Maybe he could find some tall perch to roost on, or maybe one of the buildings won't seem about to collapse... he just has to find something.

Tip-toeing over a ridge, he does come across one of the ruined buildings. This one has no roof, collapsed long ago... but maybe there's something useful inside.

Creeping inside, he grimaces at the ashes and dust. Reverend would have to clean themselves off after this...
Better be worth it. He holds the bauble ahead of him, searching around the ruins for something he could tie it to.

It's nothing but ashes, and ashes, and the abandonment of the dead.

Nothing inside. Sad. But maybe that's just the nature of this place - old and rotten and forgotten.

Slipping back out, careful not to knock over the crumbling walls, he gives a pass over the front, to see if there is anything of use in the soot. The purple bauble lights his way.

There something catches in the light - a piece of rusty chain, peeking out of the dust. It's not much, but it'll do for now. Reverend picks it up, grimacing at the dirt coating it. Yuck.

It shakes the chain, trying to get the dirt loose. Enough comes off, but the thing is still rusted from age. Oh well, there's not much else here.

He hooks the little glowing pebble he has to the chain, fastening it with a spare piece of wire, also picked up from the dirt. "I'll find something better, later," it states, thinking, before it hangs the chain around its neck. That way, the purple bauble can always light its way.

But he's tired now, and wants to find somewhere to rest. Preferably one not as dusty as this. It slinks off, shaking its feathers free of the grime.
