With the dinosaurs killed, Aran wonders what he should do with the stones. He still almost feels bad, but it's over now. They're dead, he has a way to bring them back in a way. Should he though? Would that not just mean he'd be bringing life back that he could've left alive before? He and Arquia did not give either of them a time to truly attack, he still does not know what the second one would have done. He keeps telling himself killing it before it got to them was the better idea.

Or perhaps they should've fled the scene instead.

Regardless, what is done is done, and perhaps he will revive the stones. Just to give them another chance. Aran does not remember what happened last time he attempted something like this, but if he had, he might not've tried. But to add one more to the mix... Perhaps he'll check on them when they hatch, just to see.

Up there, in a tree - Aran spots a small splash of green. A bat, with a stone sticking right out of its nose. It's not alone, but that one is hanging behind the group. Only a group of three, but surely they have a proper home somewhere else - bats don't just hang out in small groups. Maybe resting before finding another place to feed.

The branch is low enough for him to jump to.

He's tempted.

Fuck it.

Aran doesn't feel anything happen at first. He thinks the spell just didn't work - it happens sometimes, he's had his fair share of spell fails. But then there's a pain at his flank - he feels slight blood as something comes out of the skin - or rather places itself within. As he moves his head to look with the bird's eyes, he sees a set of teeth in his thigh. Sharp, sitting there, completely useless. It hurts like hell.

That... was not expected. He gazes back to the small tree, the bats have not moved. The one with the dark green, shining pargasite sitting in the same place it has been. Lovely.

Aran's at least gotta try it again. A set of three, maybe they'd stick together - the two dinosaur stones and this one. Would the bat be too different for them? He could track them and keep an eye on the young to see what happens... Lacerta has enough cover that it might work.

Aran tries again, the teeth form in his mouth correctly this time. Sharp points coming out of his gums, ready to strike. it reminds him of when he bit the throat of the other deinocornus.

With the teeth grown, Aran breaks into a run to the tree. His aim is to jump right up to the branch, where the little guy is hanging upside down, and bite the poor thing. Ittl probably kill it instantly, and then he can just take the stone where he needs it. He'll.. Get two just in case. Maybe give the second stone to someone else if the first one works.

He runs and runs, jumps and chomps right down onto the bat. He feels things crunch under the force of the teeth.

Spitting the creature out, he moves to take the tiny stone out of the creature's body. It starts turning into oil almost immediately.

One more to go.

Putting the stone somewhere safe, Aran will come back for it later. He's gotta take it to where he hid the others back in Lacerta, so he can bring them back. Hopefully neither of the stones got stolen from him - or revived without him noticing - but it should be fine. Even if that happens, he's not completely worried about it. He won't go killing another one of those large creatures though.

He follows where the spell brings him.

Another small one - larger group this time - only these ones are about to move. Some of the group is already moving to launch themselves into the sky.

With the teeth still attached, Aran thinks he can do the same thing. What about that spell from before? He can see the bat's stone from where he's standing - on its chest. There's a clear path through the trees to where the group is getting prepared to leave from. He could scare them away and then go for it, but what if he misses? It would be unfortunate.

Only one way to find out.

Calling upon the same spell he used to fight the deinocornus, Aran uses the adrenaline to chomp down on the other bat the same way he did the first. It crunches beneath his teeth, and he's able to collect the stone relatively easy with the teeth made from biteform.

With the stones collected, Aran makes his way to leave the cave.
