South-East Quadrant — Eridanus

Eridanus, otherwise known as the Maw of Mosses, is a gaping cave structure populated by stalagmites and stalactites. Rugged rocks jut up from the floor and the walls are filled with small winding tunnels. However, nearly everything in this room is covered with plant life. Well-worn paths appear as barren trails through the room, surrounded by sprawling plants, glistening green moss and stiff lichens. Small streams bubble across the length of the room. This cave smells earthy, resembling the smell of the air after rain.
LOCATIONS

The Fern Trench
The middle of the room is divided by a deep trench filled with large, towering ferns. A massive snake-like skeleton is embedded within its length; it is just the rib bones in the sides, and the spine buried along the bottom.
The Eyes
A twin pair of crystalline water pools situated near the far wall of the room.
The Monarch
A massive mushroom stands in the center of the room. It is ten meters tall with a low sweeping silver cap.
Arborspire Sanctuary
A gargantuan tree amidst a well-kept garden, opalized with Skystone veins. A haven from the forces of Chaos and Order.

The Arborspire Sanctuary

Long ago, a friend of the forest discovered an ancient tree with space for shelter beneath its roots. So great was his love for this tree and so great his love for all things that grew, he poured his magic into the earth for cycles upon cycles until the tree grew taller and more grand and the clearing around a wild, beautiful garden that he dedicated himself to protecting.

Felled by chaotic forces, remembered and returned, and now given a blessing by a wish, it has become a beacon of safety for all from the forces of Order and Disorder, where Lessers gather to graze and Greaters find peace and safety.

The Arborspire is a gargantuan tree, nearly reaching the top of the cave, with large, raised roots that offer plentiful shelter beneath. Opalized in streaks up the trunk of the tree are veins of Skystone that give the entire space around the tree, 100 yards in any direction, a ward against the forces of Order and Chaos.

On one side of the tree is an open, beautiful, and well-loved garden in that perfect state of being just a little wild. Maintained but not pruned or perfect, spilling out into the trees just beyond the clearing. It is host to a variety of ferns, flowers, fungus, and a many variety of other plants that are healthy and vibrant with life.

Lesser gembound gather in flocks - there is always birdsong in the branches, deer stay to graze and rest, it is a sanctuary and a haven for the uninfected, the injured, and the innocent. There is ever an aura of peace and safety here.

Order has no place near the Arborspire Sanctuary. Infected lessers will be unable to approach, the Sanctuary a complete blindspot to their many eyes. Drones and Hosts will find the area disconcerting to exist in. No power will aggressively chase them away, but they may find themselves weakened and uncomfortable within the boundaries. Any attempts to lace the area with the fungus that carries order will fail - it will quickly harden and crystalize and swiftly crumble into dust.

Chaos is not welcome anywhere close to the Arborspire. Oil left behind by corpses will swiftly evaporate and any corruption will swiftly dissolve and cleanse. Corrupted creatures may find themselves feeling discomforted under the eyes of the Arborspire, their madness and destruction wholly unwelcome in this Sanctuary.
