South-West Quadrant — Orion

Orion is known as the room of stars, and for good reason. The ceiling of this large room is covered in glistening quartz crystals which reflect light from below, sparkling and shining in the darkness. The walls of this room are also covered in streaks of white quartz deposits, and large pristine crystals seem to sprout from the ground like plants. The geography of this room resembles a winding valley, with steeply inclining walls rising up around a low bowl in the center. This room is filled with broken and crumbling stone structures that resemble buildings. Some of them are intact, while others have long since fallen into dust.
LOCATIONS

The Forum
In the heart of this room lies a circular building set with seats that converge on a round arena.
The Tower
Near the entrance of Tunnel I, a tall tower stands sentinel. It is encrusted with quartz crystals and fitted with winding stairs that lead to a hollow room at its peak.
The Cliffs
Rock slabs jut out from the steep walls, looking over the broken city below.
The Throne
Upon an elevated platform sits a lone, rock throne surrounded by decayed walls. Who knows who used to sit here?

”CAW-CAW-CUUUUURIOUS…”

A small egg had simply appeared beside October’s roost, overnight! Normally, the chough quite liked eggs; the texture was lovely and always left it wanting more. But it had never seen one so… pink? No one was guarding it, yet it was warm to the touch. October liked warm things, especially fire. It laid its face against the shell and closed its eyes with a soft warble. Perhaps it would enjoy this little pink egg-fire for a time before eating it. Yet before it knew it, it had fallen asleep to the warmth.

By the time it woke up, blinking blearily, the egg was still the same. Pink, spotted, warm. Ahh… perhaps it would cuddle this mini hot water bottle a bit longer. Was this why the Lesser birds were such fans of laying and incubating eggs? Why had it never thought to lay one of its own? And then, before it hatched, October could simply eat it and lay another. Was this an infinite hot egg scheme!?

Thankfully, the egg hatched before it could be eaten. The cracking might wake October up, just in time to see a too-large bird (a little smaller than a crow) somehow squeeze from the little egg. Sleek, dry-feathered and fully grown, the bird spreads its wings and breaks into soft, trilling song.

If October has no familiar, and if it wished it, the Lovebird (such as it was) could become its new familiar, regardless of knowledge of the Familiar Forge spell. If not, it could easily be a little friend, to follow it around. Or... a meal, if it was so inclined.

Either way, it might have a variety of pink, red, white or purple colors and wholly different features from others currently hatching throughout the cave: trailing tailfeathers, a lovely crest, or differently shaped beaks and legs; every Lovebird was unique.

Now, the question remained, as the bird nestled in close: what was October going to do with it..?

October has hatched a 'Lovebird.' This bird can, if desired and if October does not already possess a familiar, become their familiar regardless of (lack of) knowledge of the Familiar Forge spell. Otherwise, it can become a friend, or a meal, or anything else October might wish. Its features may vary from others of its kind, and if October's player wishes, the image can be clicked for a version that can be (vaguely) mixed and matched for a representation that they'd like.

@October
