With a wave, a little form in the waters is rushed down the shoreline. Red and black is shoved quickly through the budding flood - rain pouring down overhead. A clawed paw splashes above the rushing waves as it's pulled through and through one of Lacerta's beaches.

Eventually the little kitten is freed from the push-pull of the beachside, shoved into the sands. Reishi wheezes and hacks, coughing up ingested water. Soaked from head to toe, the tuxedo grapples against the sand in a flurry to get away from the wet. Kicking up sand - getting it stuck everywhere - but eventually far enough away from the rushing waves.

"Evil water!" The poor thing shrieks, back puffed up in defiance.

Reishi shakes out her fur, droplets going every which way. "Terrible, terrible..." muttering, shaking each paw one by one carefully.

It's a useless act, as the sky is still weeping.

Arcturus, thankfully, had not been washed up on the shores of Lacerta, but had been stranded here when the rain had begun. His wings were unfortunately not really great at catching water and flying while wet, so here he was, sitting under a bush near the beach, and trying to lick out the water catching in his pelt. He was, after all, feline at the core - he didn't really like getting wet, and it felt equally strange through his mane of stars. Water fell through it, but it was certainly effected by the damp conditions, feeling oddly heavier, moving slower. It was a bit indescribable, but mostly unpleasant.

He looked up from his place under the bush at the sound of a screech, alert. He caught sight of the other cat, fur puffed and shaking out water of their own, and knew immediately what was going on.

"Hey, hey!" he called out, pushing his head through the leaves and cringing at the water that immediately began peppering his face. "Over here, shelter! Its not much but there's room!"

@Reishi

Reishi does not notice the other feline at first, turning rapidly when they hear words from a stranger. Squinting, they make out the shape of the celestial-cat in the underbrush.

"Oh hi!" The mushroom-cat calls out, a little bit mystified at the stranger's unique form.

They quickly scramble over to the other cat's form, thankful for the invitation for shelter. She'd not thought about using the underbrush - too focused on clearing the rain from their pelt. Reishi scrambles underneath the brushes, fitting in well enough due to being a little kitten.

"Thank you! I thought I was going to be stuck out there!" her tail twitches side to side.

@Arcturus

Arcturus shuffled over to make room for the kitten scrambling into the bush, cringing at the water she brought in with her, but at this point, there was no escaping it until the rain let off. He turned to lick the water off his own pelt - and what an odd sight it was for his head to partially disappear into the drifting cloud that clung to his body.

"No problem," he said as he emerged. "The rain sucks! Ugh, I hope it calms down soon." He eyed the world outside of the brush and frowned, a cold shiver running up his spine, the dampness settling in a little deeper.

He looked towards the kitten, eyeing them. "You're kinda small to be living all the way out here. This place is kinda dangerous, isn't it?" Concern filtered through his gaze. Did she get washed up all the way out here? That must have been a horrendous journey if she had!

@Reishi

Reishi stares wide-eyed at Arcturus, watching as he licks himself of the water before mimicking the behavior herself. Thankfully, it slowly works to free her pelt from the water. It will take some time - and careful maneuvering to get around the mushroom-frill around her neck, but Reishi clearly has all the time in the world.

"Yeah... It's been raining a lot recently." She says, frowning. Hatching to this kind of weather is probably the worst thing Reishi has ever experienced. Not that she's experienced much in her life so far.

A little rain being the most dangerous thing for her so far is probably the better option, anyway. Getting food has been relatively easy as well - for an apex predator such as a small cat anyway. When Arcturus speaks, Reishi does consider the danger. She was flushed down the water after all!

"Oh! I live where the um... Big trees are!" What a great way to be descriptive, cat. "Here but not by the water, it's too gross!"

Reishi has to stop the frill from puffing out when thinking about the water. So nasty! Of course, she'd seen the large lessers of the area, but she can carefully avoid most things in the treeline. Most of the time she's been considered to small of a meal to be considered yet.

"The big things don't look at me that much! Plus I can be quiet!" To an adult it probably sounds like an excuse though. "What about you? It's not safe for you either!"

@Arcturus

Arcturus glanced back, peering through the leaves of the bush. Well he certainly saw trees, and he'd seen them when they were flying around. It certainly would make for better living then out on the beach like this. He nodded. "Yeah, okay. Still, I heard there's big monsters around!" It did indeed sound like an excuse and he sat back, looking the kitten up and down. Quiet, sure, he could believe that, but that didn't make this a safe place to be.

Although. Yeah, she got him there. He chuckled. "Uh, I was just flying around to be honest. I wanted to see the island and then leave. But then it started raining and I'm not so good at flying in the rain soooo..." he shrugged. "I'm kinda stuck here for a while."

@Reishi

Reishi's pupils go into slits at the mention of the monsters. Reishi knows that she's fully capable of running away, the bigger something is the slower they tend to be. Still, it would be bad to get caught off guard. "They don't care about something as small as me."

In the future that may change, but for now Reishi is safe. Plus, she only has to worry about a few things while in the treetops. As far as Reishi knows there's only one monster who lives in the trees with them. They're quick, but won't eat Reishi as long as she leaves them alone.

"Maybe the rain will stop soon?" Probably not, but it's the thought that counts. "I wish I could fly! My frill can help me land safely if I fall off of the trees but it's not the same!"

Maybe Reishi could grow wings one day? But then it would get in the way of their frill! Scratching themselves on the spines doesn't sound very fun.
