V-Jasper-- One and Two-- had not done much to impress the Forge. They had little mind for what they were supposed to do in the Forge, feeling out of place in the company of their fellows. The only one that seemed to understand them was... well, each other.

The weight that came with their lack of accomplishments was heavy. It felt unfair that they should be held to some strange, high standard when they had always been content with one another. Most days they could ignore this, sticking to quiet conversation between one another, but the latest meeting had brought up their lack of "usefulness" as more than just background noise.

They didn't know what to do about it. Their parent left with Opal, leaving them behind in Draco. Did Labradorite even notice their sulking absence in the meeting? Maybe only One was worried about all of this. Two didn't seem especially concerned, only mutedly assuring that what the others thought didn't matter.

"So what if we're meat to them?"

The pair snuck around in the shadows of Draco, small forepaws fussing with the long strands of hair that draped down One's neck. It was Two that saw the anvil, and realized that this was the small forge that they had heard belonged to V-Onyx-Three. They did not immediately see V-Onyx-Three here... perhaps they had gone to patrol Canis, or were busy with something else.

The Jaspers exchanged a look with one another, and then they dropped into a stalking posture, low to the ground, and drew themselves closer to investigate. Were there any weapons left about? Metals? Was there anything magic here?

It was a curiosity, one driven by the foolish assumption that they wouldn't be caught red-handed poking around somewhere they didn't belong. Shadows clung to their pelt, making them look like a long blackened shape that snaked around the forge area.

A foolproof plan. Besides, no one was home. Right?
