Delphine startled upon hearing the chirp. Although she wished to claim that she was accustomed to the owl's peculiar habits, it would have been a lie as she settled back into her skin. Her face beamed at Dark's assessment, knowing it to be wrong but finding an almost adorable quality to his incorrect assumptions. "Not quite but I suppose... It's a little more effective than gems." Decidedly dropping the subject matter there, she would — when she had proof to show for it — allow Dark to feel and perhaps sense from her mind exactly what it was she spoke of.

Her gaze shot to his talons, scrutinizing the effectiveness of its ability to forge armor. "Are you good with your talons, Dark? I imagine a lot of detail goes into armor forgery especially when working it to our shape, I would be honored if you would help me and perhaps we can make some for you too!" She exclaimed, suddenly enthused by the idea that the two of them could create armor together though they required a third party member, preferably one who was gifted in fire. "All we would need is someone who has the gift of flames..." Delphine mused thoughtfully.

If Dark had found refuge in his own thoughts, so had she as was often the case when she was enamored by ideas as these. "What do you think? Could we do it?" She asked very suddenly and incredibly sincerely.

Dark abruptly stopped, seeming to think. He chirped softly to himself, then gave an abrupt, more booming hoot, then chortled and clicked his beak for a time.

He was like some odd machine beeping and clacking as it ran through several calculations before coming to a conclusion.

"No!" he answered quite cheerfully, walking forward once more.

"I'm blind. I would still enjoy trying. But I'd probably mess it all up. I imagine you have to see what you're making," he explained, and there was now obvious humor in his tone. He wasn't even sure what this "armor" stuff was, what metal was, what she was talking about. How was he meant to create armor if he couldn't even see? He'd like to try it; it'd be fun. But yeah... he was sure he'd end up with something misshapen and horrific, not at all serviceable or even nice to look at.

"Maybe we can find some other way. But I would try."

Delphine was sincere in her suggesting that they work with one another. She hadn't doubted that the owl could craft something with his talons just as he could hear infinitely better than she. But then he laughed, a booming laugh that was a strange symphony of hoots and cuckolds. It sounded strangely automated and entirely new to her ears. She liked it for the sheer reason that it came from Dark although she was modest enough to laugh shyly at her own misgivings.

"Ah, I thought perhaps you'd be able to... Maybe feel for what you're making? Now it all sounds so silly, ignore me." The mare demurred before shooting a wayward glance to the tunnels to dispel her embarrassment. She was glad still to hear of his bemusement. "Yes we can still give it a try though." Her attention shifted to the floors, watching as it gradually became infested with moss and grass. They'd arrived at the entrance of Eridanus already and it was here where they would say their good-byes. "I'm so glad to have seen you, it's unfortunate that we have to part so soon but perhaps we'll run into one another again. Maybe then you could try your hand at forging armor!" Her head bowed to nuzzle him lightly. "Until then." Then she turned to leave, ready to go about her own business.

exit delphine!
