Mordecai was impressed. He didn't want to ask of the crow anything else as he glanced over Heinrich and his new presumed night-light. With a sigh, the left head was the one to speak first. "Thank you, Eve," the head murmured with a soft hiss, forked tongue lolling out briefly. He noticed Henry's brief look, an expression plastered on his face akin to a child waking up on christmas morning.
"We should be going, however."
There was a look of protest from Henry.
"You must be tired."
Henry still didn't speak, nor did the look fade away.
But Mordecai did notice that there was a certain way the creature was standing compared to only a few minutes ago - it's feathers seemed to be simply clinging to her body and she seemed almost slouched over where as previously she was fluffy and her chest was possibly three times bigger than the rest of her with that much air inside it keeping it puffed up.
Yet the left head noticed the look on Heinrich's face and at length he shook his head, waiting for him to voice his opinions on the crow. He moved over to take the glowing finger bone out of his brother's mouth to allow him to speak.

But, even as the bone finger was taken away from Henry the right head did not speak. He simply stared at the fluffy creature with inky black scales for a moment, head tilting in silence. Henry hadn't even noticed if the thing was even tired or if this was just a particularly lame excuse from his brother's part to excuse himself.
Suddenly, Henry was worried.
Was he going to be yelled at? What did he do now? Was it bad? The head looked up at his brother and murmured, "don't be mad." The look he received from his brother told him that he wasn't in any kind of trouble - leading him to believe that maybe he was right and Mordecai just had a better eye for detail in other people than he did.
Henry wasn't jealous, no. Not at all. At all. No. Never. Maybe a little. Henry hadn't really taken his brother as the empathetic type - especially to creatures with only one head; which he was sure Eve was guilty of. Though, of course, under all those feathers could be a smaller, secondary head.
Henry tilted his head as he watched Eve in silence as she lifted herself up with a sigh.

"I think you're right," the crow said as she lifted herself up, dipping her head down to the two-headed snake. "It's been nice meeting you two."
And with that, she was gone. Eve had only taken the time to grab the glowing femur bone with both talons before she took to the air again, wings struggling to keep her in the air with the added weight of the bone for Aquarian. Hopefully, he'd like it as much as he liked the crown that Dragon had found for him some time ago - only this time he'd care more about it as not to immediately lose it.
She flew out of Canis and back down out of tunnel K (hitting her head and wings and mostly everything off against the walls and ceiling and even the floor) and back down towards Cetus where she could ask about what seeds were.
Mordecai watched after the crow flapping and squawking her way out of Canis with a shake of his head. "I still don't know what it is," he hissed quietly as he turned back to his brother, passing him the glowing bone finger back before quietly urging him to head back towards their proclaimed den.

For once, Henry obeyed. He had began slithering back, with finger bone in mouth, towards the rib cage that they had claimed as their own den. It was going considerably well for Mordecai until Henry spoke. "I'm hungry."
And unfortunately, Mordecai knew he wasn't lying this time - he could feel it deep in his gut, too. They hadn't eaten in perhaps a week - maybe more, and last time it had been tough for the both of them to go through. Mordecai liked to think, however, that in that time he had managed to develop a healthier and overall better relationship with his brother since the horrors of trying to digest the little rat from last time. He'd even promised that Henry could have the next one they find.
Hesitant, Mordecai looked around before he sighed somewhat. "Let's go find something to eat then," he said quietly. And off they were, towards the west wall. They did their best to avoid the strange-legged and eight-eyed creature there, and instead focus on the rats that decided to make their home there.
Mordecai didn't know how long they'd be looking for a suitably sized rat, and nor did he really want to know to begin with.

Henry, on the other hand, was excited to go out for a second hunt to find another rat. To eat. with his own mouth. He had briefly considered looking for two, so Mordecai could eat with him - but he quickly remembered his brother's rather stern words - that they share a body, and therefore they share a stomach and only have to eat one. Efficient, Henry guessed, but he would rather eat with his brother like normal snakes did (though Henry didn't know any other snakes aside from him and Mordecai).
As if it were routine, Henry slithered around in pure silence while Mordecai had his head lifted up, looking around for small rats. They searched for a long time, looking and looking and looking around but to not much avail. Henry twisted and turned around, going in new directions, seeing areas he hadn't been in much before, but he never heard the sound of Mordecai saying he saw something.
Henry was beginning to get tired. It felt like hours, months, maybe years since they started looking for food and all they had achieved was making him hungrier. Did Mordecai miss one? He had to of- Henry hated to doubt his brother but there was no way he couldn't have found something by now.

Mordecai had tried hard to keep his eyes open, looking for something, anything to eat, but alas there was absolutely nothing. The head knew, deep down inside, that if he couldn't see anything soon he and his brother would have to retreat back to their den and wait until another time to find something to eat.
With a soft sigh he nudged his brother. "We can look again tomorrow."
He saw the disappointment in Heinrich's eyes as the snake's body began pulling itself once more, back towards the rib cage. The right head still had the glowing finger bone in his mouth, and when they approached the rib cage, he placed it down inside the bone structure.
It illuminated the inside of the bones with a soft glow. It was an almost comforting sight, not just for Heinrich, but for Mordecai too. As the snake's body clambered in and coiled up inside, Mordecai felt his eyes immediately close and within seconds his head was planted on his coiled spine and he was near asleep.
Heinrich was awake for a minute or so longer - watching the finger bone with half-open eyes. The right head almost unwillingly fell asleep as he drifted off into slumber.
