open ; @Eve

The spider froze as the bird hopped towards her, panic hitting Tal'at's chest with a wild thumping. The bat had no idea what to make of this whole situation, but decided in the end that Eve was right: The spider had saved him, and that was good. He wasn't dead, that was good. She was going to eat him, and that was--

Tal'at let out a warning click, flailing forward and plunging into the shallow end of the pool, soaking himself all over again-- "Eve no don't--" And then his face hit water and he had to reel away, coughing and spitting. The spider, at this point, was still as a lilypad.

And then, abruptly. she reared back and slapped her legs down on the water, splashing at the crow, before rushing back down into the deeper parts of the pond. Tal'at nearly followed her on instinct, but caught himself, scrambling his small bat form back on to the tree root where it was safe.

He was going to have to get used to sharing a brain with a spider.
