Fisher listened to Dragon, doing his best to understand his new little-big brother as best as he could. Children of Rot... There were more of them, then? He tried to imagine his family, an imagine springing to his mind of a small bird, a feline and a horse-- except longer, more noodly versions of such creatures. He squinted, picturing his imaginary version of the Children-- his brethren-- in the deep misty depths of Cetus.

He was pulled away from his thoughts as Dragon asked why he climbed the Spire in the first place, and he found his answer to be a mirror image of the alligator's. "I climbed it because I knew I could. The Spire and I have had our fights-- I zap her, she zaps me-- but in the end, I've always known I could conquer her." He ran his tongue across the length of his muzzle and flashed a grin down towards Dragon, ears perking as the swamp lizard offered him something precious.

A home, with the rest of his family. To go and join them. His breath hitched in his throat but he managed to mumble out an answer, "perhaps someday, Dragon. I have friends, like family to me, who need me. They are protecting important things here in Polaris... But someday, I would like to return to my home in Cetus and join you."

It got easier to talk about the more he went on, so he added on the names of his friends casually. There were no secrets to hide from his own brother, after all. "I'll ask Black and Fallah if they wish to come as well. They were there when we fought Aquarian, and I know how Black respects father."

Dragon rumbled his agreement.

"If ever you come to us, you will have a home with us, brother. The others would welcome you."

He remained quiet for a moment, after that, just gazing out over Polaris. The enormity of what he'd managed hit him; he was an alligator, a big fat lizard, who'd managed to clamber up to the top of the Spire.

...Somehow.

"I will stay here, for awhile, " he added, settling back down again with a contented growl. The thrumming, magical warmth of the crystal beneath him was pleasing, if a little unsettling. He wanted to bask in it, to enjoy it while he could. He'd likely never be up here again.

"You can stay, if you want. But I will rest awhile."

With this decided, the "King of Dragons" settled down, resting his broad jaw on the edge of the Spire's tip. He'd never be Raheerah--never be so powerful, so large, or so... winged. And he didn't want to be, not really.

But he could pretend. For awhile, at least.

Fisher smiled softly as Dragon offered friendship and a home to him, a sincere thing that he hoped was true. Once before he had been offered a home, but it fell apart before him and he had felt bitter about groups of gembounds that claimed to be a family... But this one was different. He touched his nose gently to the top of Dragon's head (as it was the only spot he could really reach) and wagged his tail softly.

"Thank you, brother. I should return to my friends now before they worry where I ran off to."

Feeling surprisingly at peace with the world, he hopped down beside the scaly alligator, finding his scratch just behind the foot of the soon to be sleeping brother-- and he grinned to himself. He had done it.

This time, he would take his way down without getting blasted off. He crawled down the Spire, slowly, carefully, his paws well suited to climbing both up and down. He left his brother behind, but in his heart, he knew that they had become closer than distance could even begin to measure.

Fisher exit! ;; @Dragon
