She had found a piece of cloth to give to Basil a while back, still feeling a little sick to her stomach as to how horrible a first impression she had given that interesting snake back there in Orion - she felt nasty and mean whenever Basil opened their mouth, even if they didn't have anything rude to say to her, and she hated herself for it. She tried to swallow forgiveness for the cat-thing, but it went down like a bitter medicine.

She was still prepared for this entire trip to be a hoax, for her to bring Basil this entire way only to have them insult her poor Pounce again and make them cry. Oooohh, it made her mad to even think about it - she would stomp so many times, and if it landed on the cat-thing - well, then it deserved everything it got!

She bit her tongue. She was doing it again.

Basil was nothing but polite and calm once they had the blindfold on, and here she was, being hateful.

How horrible she was.

"This is how I speak."

He had to careful as he walked, listening intently to her footsteps to pinpoint where to follow her, and she didn't help at all by giving her warnings - if there was a log to jump over, she was silent, and he bashed his nose into it - if there was a low dip, he fell and cried out in sudden fright, and she said nothing. He felt bitter towards her in this uncomfortable silence broken only by a few tense words here and there, but he tried his best to be polite towards her to break the thought that he might be lying. He could tell - she was hesitant to trust him, and she had every right to be mad and distant and think his curse was a hoax, but she could at least be civil, he thought.

"Are we much farther?" He asked, growing uncomfortable with the sloshes of cold, murky water that surprised him every time. He could feel the damp mist on his fur, and he knew they were in Cetus by now.
