He was turning away from her and snorting and insulting her, and her open face scrunched into an angry frown. How- how dare this big old jerk insult her like that! Just- just dismissing her like she didn't even matter!

She would teach him! This old "wise" gem needed to be taught a lesson! Her finger curled into her fist flickered with a strong, angry flash, and with frustration and anger burning in her little heart, she took the remnants of what she felt from his spell he used on her and used it right back at him.

And with that wish, that desire to do exactly what he did, she understood. She understood Khloros, she understood his magic and his sneer for her accomplishments, because this was spell was hard to pull off, and she did so clumsily, like first learning to walk or talk. She sent...whatever it was....as a wave throughout the older gem's body, a good-natured wave of general healing, half-directing, half-letting the spell take it where it needed to go. It was completely and utterly disconcerting, and awkward for her.

Her hands relaxed and let go of her fists, and she stared at the fox. The whole feel of the spell was such a different approach than any of her plant spells that she normally used, like...moving an army made of water, rather than pure coaxing and manipulation and gentle whispers.

then, in a flash, she remembered why she was mad in the first place, why she had tried using that spell.

"I'm not just some stupid child you can walk away from," She said, her mouth baring little fangs. "So stop throwing your snooty nose up into the air and teach me. How am I supposed to know things if no one tells me, and no one shows me? Stop being such a prick!"

To feel it being repeated, feel the exact same warmth flow up him that he had done to others countless times before, made him. Well it made him furious. Narrowing his eyes, he fought off the feeling as he got his bacteria to stop pretending to make him better. Now with her fists unclenched, she looked at him in that way and he found his lip curling, but he couldn't discredit that she had a goal and now she had achieved it. Now it turned into a snarling contest as they both stared each other down. Yes, Louie was certainly impressed at her power. How she had just managed to copy him like it was no big deal.

"Fine... Fine." Spitting the words out, he looked away from her, "If you are so fucking determined to be taught. Then you have the choice to come back and find me after my children have hatched." Mostly, it was over his own desire to see how she had managed to do that. Managed to just get it at only a couple of months old. It was absolutely incredible. Even he hadn't been able to do that at her age.

"How badly do you want to learn though? You will be training with the king of the prokaryotic kingdom and it will be intense. I'm not even sure what your base power is nor do I know where you intend to go with your specialization." Fur still being tugged by the Twister, he looked to the centre of the room.

He sneered at her, Cayenne sneered back, feeling as annoyed as she possibly could. He was telling her to come back later, once his....children had hatched? Her frown lost a little of its anger, and she instead felt confused. He was a father? And he kept talking, and she felt more and more lost. Prokariotic? Specialization? Base power? What did- she shook her head.

"I...have a plant affinity." She said, hoping that's the answer he was looking for. "I know which plants to use for medicinal properties, but I want to...I want to know what fungi might be useful to heal with, and I want to know how to use...whatever that spell just was. I want to look into a body and fix it, control their heart rates and knit their bones together when they break." She shrugged. "Everything, I suppose. You can't heal everything with just plants. I suppose you know that already."

"I've seen gems...burned, broken, in pain, and I can't do much to help them right now but get rid of the pain, and I feel so useless." She said bitterly. "I need to get stronger."

She looked to where he was looking towards now. "But if you want to go to your children, I won't keep you."

"But I will find you again." She said, a sharp edge to her voice. "You owe it to me, now."

Speaking of his children, seemed to make her deflate and he breathed out slowly. It helped him calm down and he found his anger dissipating as she began to speak about what she had focus on, "Plants... Interesting." But she expressed her interest in mushrooms as well and he felt a sly grin cross his face but he had to stop himself from actually letting it out. Unless she wanted to be tripping balls for the rest of the day it was best to avoid actually throwing spores in her face. "Yeah, you can't, mushrooms are pretty helpful as well. But I only know a few things with that."

As she described what she had seen, he had to hold back his smile at the thought of it. "Some people can take the pain away themselves. So maybe they weren't requiring your help. I'm not sure." Louie never helped others, and he wasn't sure he could let Cayenne do it without, through association, also helping. Speaking of his children Louie snorted, "Since they're gems it's not like I have to go back. But yes. If you come back, I promise I will train you." But he wasn't going to leave until she had, to be sure she wasn't going to remain in Monoceros.

She stayed silent for a while, until he said that they might've helped themselves. "If they could've, the ones I've come across," She bit back nastily, "They wouldn't have been lying there on the ground dying and half unconscious. I've seen gems with holes in their chest."

"Anyway." She forced herself to calm down and let out a slow breath. "I'll...come back. Eventually. When I need your help." She gave him a long look, then turned and climbed out of the trenches and into the howling wind.

She left then, feeling...weird. She had come to this new place with open, fresh eyes, and she left feeling angry and a little bitter.

That snarky attitude made him smirk, he just brushed it off as he turned to face the platforms closing his one eye. But she took him up on the offer, he hadn't really been expecting her to after all that but he certainly had a charm about him didn't he. Louie just lashed his tail in goodbye as he began to walk in the opposite direction to her, back towards his home. Soon, they would hatch from the jewel in which they slept, and then as she had said, she would be back. Not entirely sure how long it would be, he just hoped it would be soon.
