Tagging tenn, and AW mostly for other Polaris town peeps and/or anybody else that wants in on golem shenanigans!!

Part one of his Fabulous Perfect Best Friend gift was achieved. He was loathe to return to Eridanus, but the cow had sucked up his disdain for filth and made his way back to the jungle room. There, he grabbed the first flower he could find. It was a tall stalk with clusters of small blue flowers on multiple panicles. It smelled pretty sweet too. Not too sweet, more floral, but it was a nice smell even if it did make him almost sneeze. With the flower clutched in his teeth, Caravaggio made his way back to Polaris. He knew exactly where he was going to go.

He'd been warned not to go to the dam. It was dangerous, according to White's dad, and rampant with golems. He didn't know what golems were until he saw one a little while after, preceding his run-in with Lux and Creedence not long ago - he ran into them shortly after leaving White and had thought to try his hand at befriending more Gembounds, but they ended up not being his cup of tea. The encounter wasn't a total loss though. He had seen the golem and the way it ravenously tore at the coyote's leftover chrysalis. The topaz gleamed enticingly beneath the surface. He realized then that the golems must have been taking pretty rocks like the leftover chrysali. Where would they take them to? The answer was obvious enough.

The dam.

Caravaggio was edging his way along the river, towards the dam like he did with White. Only this time he would actually make it there. And he would stop and hold the dam in his sights. It was still, for now; Caravaggio would assume they were all out hunting for rocks. And then he would decide then and there that he was going to steal a treasure away from the dam. A gift for White. He huffed and placed the flower among a pile of rocks near the edge of the river, a safe distance should something happen, then cautiously headed towards the great, shattered dam.

Oh give me a home where the buffalo roam, Where the deer and the antelope play

Atop his trusty steed with his faithful rat walking at his side the lemur felt quite at ease. His hat was low over his eyes and his head low as he held the reigns loosely, practically allowing the deer to wander wherever he pleased. It was an easy trust-building thing he figured. He wouldn't always put pressure on the deer and allow it to eat and do what it wanted. Tenn didn't want Buckthorn to associate him with bad no good feelings all the time. So, it was while he was riding his deer and letting it do whatever deer liked that he noticed something in the distance.

It appeared to be some sort of huge deer-like thing. It wasn't one of his own creatures, none of them were that big but it did look like it could be some sub-species or one that the Tunnel Runners branched from. It was a bit big but he was certain that with a healthy does of Dormire Flowers it could be calmed enough to keep it in the pens. Besides, it just felt right to be going to lasso this deer-thing... this... cow. Yes. That word seemed right. This phenomena where he just knew certain things was happening again. He had to lasso this cow.

He tugged at Buckthorn's reigns, getting the stag to raise his head as he turned it towards the cow. He willed Buckthorn to walk slowly forward while he pulled a lasso from the belt at his side. With one hand he began to spin it in the air while the other steered the deer. Closer and closer they came until finally they were within range to throw the rope. With a silent prayer he let it loose in hopes to catch the lasso about one of the cow's horns.

The cow had his eyes glued to the dam. His ultimate goal. His destination. There, he was certain he would be able to find the perfect gift for White, and then he would present the flower and a shiny rock and they would be Best Friends Forever. That was a... BFF, right? Yes. They'd be BFF's. He smirked at the thought, to himself obviously, doing his best to distract himself from other thoughts of potential danger. This kinda thing was a once-in-a-lifetime event, because Caravaggio knew that in no other circumstances would he be going to the dam to invoke the fury of a bunch of golems by stealing their treasure. He was the last thing from a thief, but this was the only place he could think to go. He knew that there would be an abundance of rocks to choose from, and he only wanted to find the best for White.

Somewhere distantly he could hear the clack of hooves against the ground, but it was quiet. See, the cow wasn't very bright. And as he listened to the noise, he continued to walk, and then his brain just kind of made the assumption that that sound was the echo of his own hooves. He was doing his best not to psyche himself out, so this definitely helped: he focused on the sound, so assured that it was no more than an echo, that as if picked up its pace he subconsciously had done the same to match, to protest against the possibility of it being anything else.

And then he felt something land on his head. It was light, just barely a touch, but when he felt it he practically jumped out of his skin and bleated out loud. Then, he swung his head in the direction it had come. Caravaggio spotted the lemur atop the deer, but more than that, the movement of his head had secured the loop of the rope around one of his horns. Confused, Caravaggio only stared wide-eyed at the lemur, uncertain of what to do next.

The rope fell first onto the big bull's head and then tightened around his horn. Tennessee let out a proud whoop of joy at his luck. Now it was time to seal the deal!

Perhaps he should have noticed the gem on the bull's chest and it should have registered that this was a greater gembound not a lesser but that urge to catch a cow just wouldn't allow him any sort of sense. Nope! Not without some resounding proof! So, he pulled his reigns backwards, tugging Buckthorn so that the deer would back up and pull the bull.

Hopefully it would come with him and not make things too difficult.

He stared at the lemur with the rope in his weird little lemur hands who was riding a deer - a primitive cave deer. And then the lemur gave a tug and tue deer turned away and he suddenly felt the binding grow tight. His head jerked with the force of the rope around his horn, catching Caravaggio off guard. The force has caused him to stumble forward a step, sputtering stupidly before wrenching his head up. "Wha- no way!!" The cow scowled pulling away and unable to understand why he couldn't escape the pull of the rope. He thrashed his head for a solid two seconds before falling deadily still, landing his eyes on the lemur. And his eyes, they filled with absolute poison. He stared at the lemur hard before jerking his head with as much strength as he could muster.

To his immense satisfaction, he felt resistence, and then the rope grew slack as he yanked the lemur clean off of the deer. The cow snorted and tossed his head, throwing it side to side until the rope finally slipped free. And then he scuffed his hoof on the ground and stared at the displaced lemur, anger daring him to punish the rat for binding him, and keeping him steeled all the same.

The stag that Tennessee rode pulled and pulled while he kept the grip on the rope. They actually managed to get the huge calf to come forward but any satisfaction he felt upon getting the creature to stumble forward was nulled when he felt himself yanked off after a mighty pull from the beast's head.

With a yowl of alarm he was aggressively yanked from Buckthorne's back, landing right on the cow's face. After a moment of silence he managed to say cheerfully, "Well, howdy there, yer pretty strong!" He simply stared into the bull's eyes, waiting to see what exactly would happen next. Would his calm demeanor keep the best in place or would he be thrown again?

With the lemur on the ground looking up at him, he almost expected the weird rodent thing to attack or cry out or run away. Alternatively, Caravaggio himself was two seconds from screaming and running away, or stomping on him, he couldn't decide. Thankfully, the lemur made up his mind for him and greeted him cheerfully, causing the cow to cock his brow and snort. "Yeah! I am strong! So don't do that again, or I'll... stomp you into the ground!" The cow threatened, scuffing his hoof in the dirt. "What are you doing, throwing ropes at people like that? You could've hurt me! You're just lucky I'm so strong." Caravaggio scoffed and lashed his tail.

there's a beautiful storm in your eyes

wandering around polaris was something he liked to do in his time of freedom after all he did not get along with too many people in polaristown, the times he was there he would either sleep or be working all on his own. that and the activity of the golems was starting to alert the lion, his father had told him that they reacted to the use of magic and if that was so well then the inhabitants of polaristown had better come up with a plan as to how to keep the mindless creatures away.

eventually the scent of a certain lemur would catch his nose and the lion would follow the source of the smell for tennessee happened to be the only gembound in polaristown that seemed to enjoy his stay. should make more friends, a chuckle of amusement would come out his mouth only to cease as soon as he would hear a threat come out the mouth of a stranger.

upon getting closer to the scenario, he would realize that it was none other than a mere child causing a charming smile to show itself on the lion's face, "and just what is going on here?" quintus would saunter towards the two with the pride of kings and it was evident in his smug face that he knew what he was doing. taking a moment to look over the calf, the lion's charming smile would turn into a devilish one, "bet, you're not stronger than me kid."
