QUESTS/EVENTS
Torrential downpours cause localized flooding and many upset cats. Along with these frequent rain, from gentle drizzles to heavy rainfall, there seems to be a flux of Magicka drawn in particular to water sources. Occasional jet streams of warm air make narrower tunnels harder to navigate. On occasion, the rain intensifies, becoming howling storms with sleet or large hail. However, the temperatures overall are a little warmer, with snow and ice in temperate caves somewhat receding.

MAGICKA LEVEL 81% RESTORED TO 100%
So soon after their birth it seemed that everything was starting to go downhill! The little male was crying and the other two were in obvious discomfort at the sound! Oh no, oh no this wasn't going so good. The lioness picked up the white fluff with the obsidian cheek mark and attempted to soothe her by licking the tufty fur on her head. Oh, she hoped it was working! Right now her eyes were squeezed shut as she tried to block out the sounds of the crying so the babe didn't see the dancing lights above. What could she do?
In an instant she thought of something, she focused her magic and attempted to bring on the soothing sounds of waves to accompany the lights. It was a success and the den was filled with the sound of lapping waves against a soft shoreline, like she'd heard in Poalaris many times. It always made her feel better and she hoped that it accompanied with the lights would make the small male stop crying.
It was then that her older son walked in. Her blue eyes blinked at him and she said curtly, "Working on it." Her tone was unnaturally clipped because of the stress of the small children and she regretted her tone instantly. Her eyes softened apologetically, "Sorry, we haven't gotten around to it yet. They're upset... Would you like to help us calm them down?" After all there were three babies and now three adults to hold them. They could certainly use Quintus' help.

MAGICKA LEVEL 100% RESTORED TO 100%
The child did not like this new world. There were too many faces, too many voices, so loud and close. There was only one thing that he did like... And that was the shimmering lights, things that he had never before been able to see in his whole life in the prison of blackness. A peaceful, soothing sound of water accompanied the lights, and the noise of the others and the distraction of so many bodies could almost be forgotten.
The baby, for a moment, stared with his big blue eyes up at the shimmering lights his warm, loving father had made for him. His ears twitched, absorbed in the gentle thrum of a musical, gentle bath of lapping water. For a moment, past the blurriness of his bawling eyes, he found peace... But the attention span of a newborn could only last for so long.
... And so, the tears returned. His eyes shut, and the bawling picked up once more, his forepaws kicking out at the air, his tiny body squirming as he succumbed to his wallowing once more.

When Quintus arrived, Leon had simultaneously breathed a sigh of relief and found himself clamoring to give the lion he deserved. He cast a glance towards the darker feline, a grin, a small laugh, and then placed his focus back on Baroque who was sobbing helplessly. The distraction of the sobbing baby and the arrival of his older son nearly caused him to cast his spell haphazardly, but with due attention it soon evened out, and he focused hard on his magic output while gently rocking the bawling hybrid. In truth, they hadn't really thought about names. Well... they had. But nothing they really decided on. There were a few suggestions, but he wanted to leave it mostly up to Makyna. After all... naming them seemed to be more her department, and it felt like she'd think of something a lot better than he would.
"They seem pretty noisy... maybe something to go along with the Songcat name, hey?" Leon laughed quietly, gently rocking Baroque and Sonata. While the lights played gently above, he began to hum - it was a song he'd heard Makyna sing, as were most of the tunes he was fond of delivering. A final glance was cast towards his wife, and then to Quintus, and Leon let the humming take him away, hoping that it would relax the chaotic dissonance of the cave so suddenly flourishing with life.
The baby boy was absolute, one-hundred percent upset. He whined and complained, tears bubbling down his cheeks until, finally, he became too tired to continue. Eventually, Leon's soft humming and rocking made the newborn drift off, unable to stay awake much longer.
