CAVE STATUS
QUESTS/EVENTS
Autumn arrives, subdued by the caves' depths. Skittering leaves, thick fog or drifting mist, and cooler temperatures provide a crisp fall atmosphere. The spectres of Andromeda drift in and out of visibility, and pumpkins begin to spread beneath foliage shifting into hues of amber and flame. Strange whispering can be heard at the edges of empty tunnels, and the Carnival seems more boisterous than usual...

Within the ferned gully stood a small chrysalis of vibrant green. It was bright and opaque, masking the creature inside. First, there was a quiver. Then a shudder. With a violent shake, the crystal shattered, splinters of elbaite scattering into the ferns gathered around. Within the dust that remained was a small bundled of blonde and auburn fur, curled tightly into a ball. A curved ear was the first thing to move; it twitched and fluttered, moving to catch the sounds of the cave. Soon after, a green eye opened, peeking over a foreleg that was tucked over a muzzle. Contracted muscles began to relax, and the ball of fur finally began to take shape. The air was damp in new lungs and clung to fresh fur. Tourmaline eyes gazed around the trench in wonder, small maw dropping in his childlike curiosity.
After he took a brief second to glance around him, his eyes dropped to the shards of gem at his paws. They were rough and jagged - the perfect play toy. A dark-gloved paw reached out to bat a splinter of stone, and it barely moved. A quiet gurgle sounded, and the hunt was on. The mottled kit promptly fell over, catching its prey beneath his tiny body. Front paws grasped the jagged piece of tourmaline and he began to bite it, tiny, sharp teeth clacking against the hard material. It refused to give, so another gurgle was had, and short legs began to move quickly and violently, pawing at the ground as he attempted to push himself upright. When he was finally able to succeed, his tail twitched and sent him flailing to his other side, gurgled growls resounding all the while. The tourmaline was obviously at fault, and so he began his attack again. Sooner or later, it would give!
He'd been hanging around Eridanus the last few days after speaking --or rather listening-- to the leopard. If there was some sort of group around well... why not be a part of it? He always thought of himself as a protector so what better way to show it than to protect those around the forest and beyond? It suited him quite well.
The dragon hummed to himself, musing over things in his head until he heard the sound of a shattering chrysali. He didn't know how he remembered it but he did somehow and he followed it. He was always curious as to what creatures popped out of the gem-cocoons. He also had a sort of a soft spot for them, the tiny creatures that had no idea of the world around them.
Carefully and as quietly as he could the dragon followed the sound until he saw the creature beneath the canopy of leaves. Compared to him it was absolutely tiny, hardly as large as one of his claws. All the more reason to be delicate with it... With a grin he watched the creature at play for a moment before he let loose with a rumbling hum that was supposed to be comforting as he dipped his head closer and turned his head to fix the wolverine with one massive pink eye.
