The serpent thrashed about, flailing his long body wildly. Bone tumbled over him with a clatter as he squirmed his way into them like a frightened worm. The sickly sweet scent of the dormire plant caught his tongue. Septiezal crinkled his snout at the stench but at the same time, he found it strangely relaxing. As the shock ebbed from his body, the python slipped his charred head out of the pile of bones he made around himself, tasting the domare once again with a flick of his tongue. The spell had spared the transparent scales over his eyes, but the rest of his skin was blackened to a crisp. Now that he calmed, Septiezal looked at the extent of the damage. The smell of charred scales wafted through the air, almost dominating the sweet stench of the dormire flower. To him, it actually smelled better than the flower. He didn't know what to think of this spell. It made his burnt snout a million times worse, but it seemed like a great defense mechanism. Right now, he probably tasted as bad as he smelled.

Septiezal watched his tell as he curled and uncurled it, noting how the scales cracked in patched. "Huh," He said inquisitively . "This is going to be an interesting shed..."

"Speech."

Once Tuck was sure that the snake had calmed down enough to accept treatment, he began rooting through his bag once again for a different seed — one that smelled a bit sour, and a bit like mint, at the same time. He finally found it, and then turned and stuck it in the ground next to the Dormire Flower, but far enough away to allow the roots of the bush to grow a bit. Then he called upon his Magic once more and asked it to emerge from the seed.

It did so immediately, and though it was small and pathetic, there were a handful of small berries, but more leaves, which is what he wanted. “I need to apply a pulp to the worst of your burned skin,” he said, turning to Sept. “Will you let me? It’ll help keep infection away while you begin to shed, since I know that takes a while.”

The python eyed the marmoset's plant as it broke through the ground. He wondered what it would look like if he set it a light. Would crackled like his skin, or would the flames scorch it into something else entirely? Septiezal looked at Tuck inquisitively when he told him the purpose of this plant. This monkey sure loved his herbal medicine, and he seemed to be pretty good at it. The python nodded and rested his head on the ground. Doctoring other Gembounds never had an appeal to him, he thought he would be much better at causing damage, than fixing it, but it was interesting to see how the marmoset when about his healing work.

"Knock yourself out.". The told Tukluk. His emotionless tone did not betray his feelings about the monkey rubbing his sticky, little hands all over his charred scales. However, he would be a fool to deny free medicine.

Septiezal's body was scorched all over. Some of his skin was already trying to flake off in patches, however the worse of damage was around his gem. It seemed to have grown hottest there.

"Speech."

Tuck nodded when Septiezal said he would accept the treatment, and began the rather gross process of chewing the leaves and spitting the mushy pulp out into his tiny hands. This would be a lot easier if he were bigger and had bigger paws, but he could only work with what he had. As he moved around to the snake’s head, to rub the pulp into the area around his gem, he spoke in a quiet voice. “I had to learn how to use this plant the hard way. I had a bad poison ivy infection some time ago, and had to figure out how to keep the itching and burning down. And I was making it worse from scratching and I was afraid my skin would become infected, so I went all around Eridanus looking for plants to help.” He chuckled as he moved on to the next area of burned skin.

“That sparked my interest in healing others, especially since it lets me practice my Magic.” He stuffed more leaves into his mouth and chewed, going momentarily silent, before spitting more pulp into his paws and rubbing it in, carefully avoiding touching anything with his claws, since he didn’t want to scratch the snake. He was only using the heels of his hands, and he was being slow and thorough. “This shouldn’t hurt, so if it does, let me know,” he said, realizing that he should have said that before he even started. “If something does start stinging or burning, it’s not the pulp. This stuff should be making you a little numb, if anything.”

EDITING AN ENDING (a little bit of assuming stuff here so if Pluto comes back and wants me to change it, let me know):

Things were silent after that as Tuck continued spitting pulpy Iceberry Bush leaves into his hands and rubbing them into the burns on the snake. Eventually, he was through with the process, but at this point, said snake was asleep, presumably from exhaustion from pain or something. Tuck's work was basically done, so he slipped away quietly, letting the reptile get some sleep...
