Torrential downpours cause localized flooding and many upset cats. Along with these frequent rain, from gentle drizzles to heavy rainfall, there seems to be a flux of Magicka drawn in particular to water sources. Occasional jet streams of warm air make narrower tunnels harder to navigate. On occasion, the rain intensifies, becoming howling storms with sleet or large hail. However, the temperatures overall are a little warmer, with snow and ice in temperate caves somewhat receding.
The owl couldn't comprehend the leaps in logic this wolf was taking, it seemed to be far beyond all reason. He blinked, staring at the wolf in shock as he spoke. How was he taking joy in such a thing? Tacitus liked to look at the innards of creatures but only to see what was there and only after they were already dead. This was something far different. If he believed in things like good and evil he might think that's what the wolf was. Instead his mind just echoed "insanity". Part of him wished he'd never met the wolf but the other part was intrigued and happy to have finally met someone like this. He would recognize things like in others now if he ever saw the traits of a mad creature.
He said nothing, only let out an angry hiss of pain as the wolf re-positioned himself and grabbed his leg, biting down hard and drawing blood. The way he was gripping it, it seemed like he aimed to snap it in half. He couldn't allow that. He had to get around. On instinct he lashed out with his other foot, talons bared as he attempted once again to slash the wolf's eyes to get the beast to let go. No more words were spared as anything else would be a waste on his part.

Astaroth saw the owl draw back his talons in an attempt to strike, saw the near his eyes even as he twisted on the owls' leg. He twisted his head, only in an attempt to get out of the way of the talons, with the owlets leg in his mouth he twisted hard to avoid the talons It must be broken with a jerk like that. he thought , he felt the claws tear into his face, he only hoped he had moved enough to save his vision, at least partially. He felt the talons slice through his flesh, missing his eye by only an infinitesimal amount, he released the leg and roared with pain, he stood and looked at the owl, he thought that he may have deserved that. But he didn't care, he had done what he set out to do. Even if the leg wasn't broken it was at least crippled by now.

He could feel the wolf jerk his leg painfully, he could feel a wound opening and as he slashed at the wolf's face he felt the canine dodge around the strike. His talons slashing through flesh and getting the wolf to stop biting which was his aim. The owl hopped away on one foot, injured one drawn up to his belly. It would take a while to heal but with time it would get better, he just had to find the time to tend to it.
Now though it was his chance to escape the insane wolf. So, with a glare he turned and began to hop away on one foot, wings aiding him when he needed it as he searched for someplace to hide in. He saw it, an old burrow not to far away. So, with all the speed he could muster he made a beeline for it and shimmied inside, successfully concealing himself away. Comfortably, he sat there and ignored all that was going on as he preened his injured wing and tended to his foot. He would not be coming out until he was certain the coast was clear.
Astaroth glared at the owl as he left, he considered himself the winner of this fight, even as he felt the blood trickle down his face. He walked slowly across the cavern to find a place to rest.
