Home. The best place to practice spells was when in a place of comfort. She sat perched on a smooth rock, only about a foot tall, but a few feet wide. A good place to sit. Her eyes were closed as she tried hard to focus on the minerals in her body. It was difficult. Apparently more-so than expected, as nothing grew when her body decided it was ready to try. A dejected sigh was her only result. I had no idea how difficult plants were. I wonder how Cayenne managed to do-- of course, it was here element. Prokaryote comes as naturally to me. Fae hadn't been around long, but she was at least figuring herself out fast. Her feet were much more coordinated than they had been when she first emerged, and she didn't knock herself over with her own wings as often. Words were still mostly just sounds to her ears, but she didn't seem to mind so much. As long as they sounded nice, she repeated and remembered them.

she walked from glowing moss to glowing crystal, testing each one with her beak to see if any of them felt or tasted good. One particularly bright crystal caught her attention and she started rubbing her beak against it. The sound was a weird one, but she liked it enough to keep on scraping for a moment or two.

Once that little game was over, she glanced around the room, hoping some other gembound would be nearby. Surely enough, another feathered one was perched on a rock nearby. "Hey there!" She excitely called out, repeating words she had heard earlier "Red! Red!" She added at the end.

Some kind of odd noise caused her to open her eyes, perking up and looking around. Not too long after, another and new bird came to view. And big smile parted her beak slightly. She was coming upon so many feathered children these days. It brought a strong joy to her heart and soul. "Hello, little one. You can call me Giga. What is your name?" she said, trying to speak slowly and kindly. "Red? You're red. Is that what you mean?" A tilt of her head, watching the colorful young one. Such beautiful varied. Name. That word came up again. She had heard it earlier and the meaning finally seemed to click into place. She paused for a long moment and tilted her head in concentration. "Fae... Faerie" She said. "Fae!" She said again, proud of herself for saying something outside of the words she had been told. "Name Faerie!" She squawked then stopped and thought about everything else she had heard.

"Name Giga?" She asked, testing out her new understanding of the word that had been bouncing around in her head for awhile. The other words still didn't make sense, but at least she was figuring out that words were more than just fun sounds to be repeated and paraded about.
