I'm hoping to do some development with Equinox, as I've been struggling for muse with her slightly as of late. So, I'd like her to become somewhat of a guardian, looking out for those who she loves and maybe finally making use of her slime. She'd still be shy of newcomers but she'd be far more confident in her own abilities and less afraid of her slime.

To do this, I'm looking for a variety of characters and events. Guardian characters perhaps to plant the seed, young characters that she can bond to and to look up to her. And antagonists who may threaten them.

I'm also looking for ideas on how she might use her slime; I was thinking she could work with someone to create torches and help light up the caves again?

In addition, I want to develop her artistic side by giving her reasons or inspiration to paint once the lights return. But that can wait for now.

Oh man, Xireidi could fit the bill for either guardian inspiration or antagonist for this one. They've met before in an abruptly ended thread (Oh shoot, I left that hanging and need to edit an ending. Thanks for reminding me). With equinox almost literally being a creature of oozing darkness that, on the rare occasion, goes up in flame they pretty much fit the bill to set off his eldritch-abomination-dar. Even more so, if in colored memory he thinks that equinox's "just splorin'" statement was to find gembounds to take away then that could trigger some rage as he might think she is responsible for the loss of Gratia.

I could see it going down as Nox casually talking with a youth, Xi misconstrues it as a kidnapping in process and jumps in to rescue, refusing to listen to either Nox or the kid as he thinks he knows the truth already and will not be swayed by the lies. Battle may ensue with last round or round after last setting up to injure Xi enough he can no longer fight. This would set him to have to listen and try to talk his way out of a rough situation.

For Xi, it would set hip up for plotline of waking up his magic again and learning the Recover spell. For Nox she's now have someone keeping an eye on her to make sure she stays an upstanding citizen (which may also act as encouragement to be proactive in looking nice)

That was just one idea, and of course wouldn't be immediate if we played it out; you've probably had your share of fights for a little bit :P

You know, I think Eq and Penelope should meet. She's blind, paranoid, and suffers from PTSD. She could use all the protective friends she can find.

That would definitely be interesing! As for antagonists, I'm more looking for a reason for Equinox to protect those close to her... But I feel like a follow-up thread with the two of them would definitely be interesting if just to see where it goes. Equinox will probably be looking to clear her name with him, and she would probably refuse to fight unless things get especially bad. Plus I feel like, especially at this point, any more trauma would do more harm to her character than good and end up with her going into hiding.

The idea of him mistakenly trying to protect a youth would definitely be interesting; if it was someone Equinox knew well, it'd definitely go the wrong way and result in a fight. Nox has never properly fought before so I feel like that'd be interesting, she'd probably refuse for a lot of it and the rest would be mainly setting fuses. Or, she might misinterprret it, and end up with her trying to 'protect' the little one as she thinks Xireidi is trying to attack them!

aaahhh they so need to meet! They could be so adorable together, and I feel like Equinox would absolutely love her and just want to make her feel better like a big slimy dog.
