There was nothing.

And then, suddenly, all at once, there was something.

Ollie barely remembered breaking free of his chrysalis. What he really remembered was what happened next. After he stumbled out on shaking paws too big for his body, moving muscles he didn't even know he had, he looked around. He took time to look at himself, too. His body looked... strange, but maybe that was because it was the first body he'd ever seen. His paws were odd and clunky, and his claws stuck out a little. His tail felt like it was too long, and his fur felt foreign and cold.

He let out a soft mewl of displeasure. He didn't like this very much. He would much rather crawl back into his chrysalis and stay where it was safe and warm, not a place like this. He felt a strange energy coursing through him, and it was all terribly overwhelming. He felt almost like he couldn't breathe, like he needed a break, somewhere to run to.

Turning on his back paws, Ollie made a move to take off into the darkness of the cave. He didn't know what he was doing here. Why was he even here?

Why was there something, when nothing had been perfectly fine before?

Aeroth had been taking a nap a little ways off from here before she heard the loud CRACK! of a chrysalis breaking. She jumped up, scanning the area for the source of the sound, taking a few tentative steps around as she looked, finally rounding a boulder to see a little kitten, about to run away into the dark. "'Eya hun, you may wanna wait a bit before running, it's a little dangerous around here right now with the storm. Why don't you come around here with me I found a little bit of shelter. Can you walk?"

Taz looked around wearily. Ever since he hatched he had heard whispers that were barely audible. He could hear something, there was something there, something following him but he couldn't see them. His deep purple eyes frantically searched but nothing. Taz moved slowly until he heard a strange sound. He froze, staring in the direction the noise came from. He quickly realised something was coming right at him. Taz slowly stepped back, the whispers were gradually becoming louder. The thing that had been following him, stalking him was here! It was coming for him! "Stay......stay back! What do you want with me!"" Taz kept moving back slowly from this beast. What he didn't know wast this beast was just Ollie who had just hatched. Taz's back hit a wall and he suddenly felt very trapped. Suddenly the floor began to sizzle and smoke was raising. Taz felt a sharp pain in his paws and he began to squeal and shout in pain. What was happening? "I'm sorry, I'm sorry! What did I do to you? Who are you?" Taz jumped about, trying his hardest to get rid of the pain, trying to make the pain stop. He held his red hot paws out towards the tiger, scared and not wanting him to come any closer. In his mind, this beast was going to hurt him and he didn't want that.

Too late did Ollie hear Aeroth's words. He had already taken a few shaky steps into the darkness, and apparently, that was all that was needed to frighten the small creature in front of him, which he hadn't noticed before. He leaped back in surprise when there was suddenly fire magic in front of him! Some deep, instinctual part of Ollie told him to run, run as fast as he could and just get out of there, go back to his chrysalis maybe...

No. No, it was far too late for that.

His eyes watered for a moment as he took more steps back, retracing back to where he had started. "I -- I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to startle you, I promise." His first words, and he was uttering an apology. He wondered if this would set him on some sort of path for the future, or have some kind of prophetic meaning. He didn't even know what was going on right now.

Ollie turned back to the first voice -- Aeroth -- and blinked widely. "I... I can walk, but, I don't know what I am... or who I am, really. There was nothing and then... then there was something. I'm so confused."

Aeroth, was motioning quickly for them to come over to her."Well both of you come over here and get in some shelter!" She said, her normally light and Airy voice growing serious. She didn't want either of them to get hurt. She jumped when a strike hit the ceiling near them from the spire, running behind them. "Go go go go go!" The bang from the strike drowned her voice out after a second.

Taz watched as the creature that had followed him backed away. Perhaps it was the smoldering paws that did it, but who knows. Either way Taz was glad. It was then that there was a loud noise and a flash. Taz jumped up quickly and looked around. As quickly as the spell had been cast it was ephemeral. His paws were slightly burned, not used to the fire magic yet. Taz looked around wearily before quickly running to the shelter, but kept as far away from the other two he could. They had captured him, so now what would they do with him. He turned to the one that was ready to attack him, the tiger. "What do you want with me? What have I done to you?" He looked to the floor, those whispers had dulled once more. They were talking among themselves, weren't they? What were they saying about him, were they discussing what they should do with him. His small purple eyes were filled with terror as he stared at the ground not saying a word more.
